Forbes: President Obama's Top 10 Constitutional Violations of 2013

Forbes: President Obama's Top 10 Constitutional Violations of 2013 - forbes.com

Excerpt from this article:

"One of Barack Obama’s chief accomplishments has been to return the Constitution to a central place in our public discourse. Unfortunately, the president fomented this upswing in civic interest not by talking up the constitutional aspects of his policy agenda, but by blatantly violating the strictures of our founding document. And he’s been most frustrated with the separation of powers, which doesn’t allow him to “fundamentally transform” the country without congressional acquiescence."

Former CCM Singer Turned Secular Pop Star Katy Perry: 'I Don't Believe in Heaven or Hell' - christiannews.net

Excerpt from this article:

“'I’m not Buddhist, I’m not Hindu, I’m not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God,' Perry continued. 'I pray all the time—for self-control, for humility. There’s a lot of gratitude in it. Just saying ‘thank you’ sometimes is better than asking for things.'”

I wonder if Katy Perry has any pictures on Google Images? (see my post: The Entertainment Industry: As Nasty As They Want to Be! The Bible says:

Target's Close Relationship to Gov't Needs to Be Watched

Target's Close Relationship to Gov't Needs to Be Watched - infowars.com

Excerpt from this article:

“... 'In many ways, Target is actually a high-tech company masquerading as a retailer.' Target has been actively involved with law enforcement since the mid-90’s but 'intensified' after 9/11. And Target’s high tech masquerading isn’t just about crime solving. Target is watching its customers very, very closely. Target was able to tell that a teenage girl was pregnant before her father even knew by profiling her purchases. Their data mining was so detailed and intensive that they noticed that pregnant women began buying certain vitamin supplements and things like unscented lotion. When they sent coupons obviously targeted to pregnant women, the father was incensed and complained to a Target manager that he felt they were trying to encourage his daughter to get pregnant. On a subsequent contact, the father told the Target manager that his daughter had already been pregnant at the time and he wasn’t aware of it.  That’s the power of “metadata” that the government keeps telling us is not so important — at the same time they are building massive storage capabilities to capture and analyze it (emphasis mine)

DHS Insider [and My Gospel Project] Gives Final Warning

DHS Insider Gives Final Warning - homelandsecurityus.com

Excerpt from this article:

"The relationship that exists between DHS today and the executive branch is well beyond alarming. DHS and other organizations have become the private army of the Oval Office. The NSA, and I’ve got contacts there, is taking orders from the Oval Office. The IRS is under the virtual control of the Oval Office in a manner that would make Nixon cower. Even though all roads appear to lead to the Oval Office, they lead through the Oval Office. It’s not just Obama, but the men behind him, the people who put him there. The people who put him there are the ones who created him.”
---------------------------------------------------------

Former Secretary of State under President Richard Nixon, Henry Kissenger  (and has recently come out in support of Chris Christie for President in 2016!),  has been quoted as saying:

"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. Troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government." In an address to the Bilderberger organization meeting at Evian, France, on May 21, 1991. As transcribed from a tape recording made by one of the Swiss delegates.

My response is to point out that in a sane and just world, most of the lib talk guys would be handing out towels in men's restrooms. Also, that if the mainstream media had been doing its job, Rush Limbaugh wouldn't have one. They don't seem to understand this."

The Christmas Story: 4000 Languages Without the Complete Bible - christianpost.com

Excerpt from this article:

"During the holiday season, the Bible's account of the birth of Jesus is at the heart of the Christmas celebration for devout Christians. Unfortunately, reading the Christmas story is out of reach for many. That's because there are still some 4,000 languages without a complete Bible."
-----------------------------

The world can be a pretty scary place, and everywhere we look there is tragedy and heartache. And it seams as though Christians are being persecuted more now than any time in recent history. But at times like this it is good to remember that God is still in charge. Our Lord Jesus is still on his throne. And the Bible is still without error and everything it has to say will surely come to past!

And one of those things the Bible - our Lord Jesus - says is: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached as a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come." Matthew 24:14. But as the Bible also says, "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).

As we get ready to wrap up another year, please consider donating to the work of bringing the Bible to those people who have never heard. And one great organization that I would recommend is:

Here Comes the ObamaCare Tax Avalanche

Here Comes the ObamaCare Tax Avalanche - humanevents.com

Excerpt from this article:

At its core, ObamaCare is three things: a massive expansion of Medicaid; a set of complex mandates to control both insurance providers and customers; and the largest tax increase in a generation, much of it levied against the middle class ... Perhaps we should add a fourth core component of ObamaCare: it rewrote the Constitution, in the manner of a computer virus corrupting an operating system.

The World Says Drinking Together Can Save Your Marraige

One Key to a Happy Marriage: Drink Together! - newser.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Newlyweds hoping for a long and happy marriage might pay attention to their drinking habits: Couples who drink roughly the same amount are less likely to divorce than those in which one of the two is a heavier drinker, according to a new study spotted by NBC News. It's not so much about the booze itself as the compatibility, which is why couples in which both people are heavy drinkers tend to divorce no more often than those in which both people are teetotalers."

World Turns Away as Rebel Massacres of Syrian Christians Intensifies - lewrockwell.com

"The world media is increasingly losing interest in the foreign-fueled war still raging in Syria between the Assad regime and an assortment of Islamist rebel groups backed by the Obama administration, Sunni Arab dictators, and European powers. For embattled Syrian Christians, though — most of whom tried to stay out of the conflict — reports suggest the situation is deteriorating quickly, with over 1,200 documented murders so far, and almost 500,000 forced to flee their homes to escape the escalating violence and ruthless persecution. The real numbers are probably even worse."

Bible Reading for Today - December 25, 2013

"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." - Luke 2:1-14

The Daily Spurgeon - December 25. 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin or in English; and secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Saviour; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Savior's birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occurred. ... It was not till the middle of the third century that any part of the church celebrated the nativity of our Lord; and it was not till very long after the Western church had set the example, that the Eastern adopted it. ... Probably the fact is that the "holy" days were arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals. We venture to assert, that if there be any day in the year, of which we may be pretty sure that it was not the day on which the Savior was born, it is the twenty-fifth of December. Nevertheless since, the current of men's thoughts is led this way just now, and I see no evil in the current itself, I shall launch the bark of our discourse upon that stream, and make use of the fact, which I shall neither justify nor condemn, by endeavoring to lead your thoughts in the same direction. Since it is lawful, and even laudable, to meditate upon the incarnation of the Lord upon any day in the year, it cannot be in the power of other men's superstitions to render such a meditation improper for to-day. Regarding not the day, let us, nevertheless, give God thanks for the gift of His dear Son." (Source 1 and Source 2)

Actors. Actresses. Musicians. Professional athletes. These are the people your kids look up. So much so that businesses are willing to pay them millions of dollars to endorse their products. (see Hollywood Pushes Immorality, Violence and Gun Control; Demand a Plan? Demand Celebrities Go ...).

What would happen if the porn industry decided to hire top celebrities to advertise their products? Pornography is already one of the largest segments of the Internet (see: Covenant Eyes: Porn Stats). What would happen, if say, major celebrities started to appear in hard core porn movies? Would that increase the number of men (and women and children!) who start clicking on porn sites and watching X-rated movies? Or would people say, "We will accept Miley Cyrus' twerking, but that is as far as we want to go?"

Here is an experiment that I really don't want anyone to perform: Turn on your computer. Go to www.googleimages.com. Now type in the name of your favorite pop star followed by the word porn. You can start with the following names: The Olson Twins, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, & Drew Barrymore).

The world says:

"It seams so obvious: if we invent a machine, the first thing we are going to do - after making a profit - is use it to watch porn." - Damon Brown, Playboy's Best Covers

The Bible says:

"There is no fear of God before their eyes." - Romans 3:18
"I will set no wicked thing before my eyes." - Psalms 101:3

My Question to You on this Christmas Day, 2013: What Is Your Only Comfort in Life or in Death?

I usually take Sunday's off from my blog, My Gospel Project. This is especially true of my feature, Today in the News. But today is not Sunday, it's Christmas. And so I am working on finding news stories for this feature. And I was struck with the horror stories of tragedies that have taken place just the past couple of days. Here a just a few from today's headlines (I originally found these links on The Drudge Report. Thanks Matt!):

5 Shot, 3 Killed Outside Strip Club In Irvington - newyork.cbslocal.com

Christmas Day Bombings in Iraq's Capitol Kills 37 - hosted.ap.org
Looters Repeatedly Ransaked Home With Dead Stockton Senior Inside - sacramento.cbslocal.com

Family Christmas Nightmare After Theives Steal Kids Presents, Dog - myfoxtampabay.com
87 Year Old Man Known for 6 Million Christmas Light Display Shot Dead - breitbart.com

So how do you deal with tragedy, especially on 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year'?" To find the answer to this question, I would ask you to look back in history almost 500 years, to The Heidelberg Catechism.

Question #1:  "What is your only comfort in life and in death?"

Answer: "That I with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who, with his precious blood, hath fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life, and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him."

Merry Christmas from My Gospel Project!

I don't believe in Santa Claus, and I think Christmas is at best a mixture of pagan and Christian traditions. But I do love to sing Christmas carols, I love to see the Christmas lights, and I especially love my Lord Jesus, the "Reason for the season!" So I want to wish my readers a Merry Christmas, and here is my gift to you:

Short excerpt from this article:

"What if they called a war and peace broke out instead? That's exactly what happened during the Christmas season of 1914 when the soldiers themselves called a truce and, had it not been for intervention by the higher authorities on both sides, World War I might have ended."

McDonald's to McWorkers: Beware of Fast Food

McDonald's to Workers: Beware of Fast Food - newser.com

Excerpt from this article:

"It's hard to have a healthy diet when you often eat at fast food joints, according to sensible dietary advice posted in an unlikely place: McDonald's own employee resources website. 'Fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight,' warns the website, which labels a picture of a cheeseburger, fries, and soda 'the unhealthy choice' ..."
----------------------------------

It's good that McDonald's is warning its employees of the dangers of eating fast food. Perhaps, rather than give them a raise, McDonald's could just give them a copy of the following book this Christmas:
