Israel to Syria - More Coming!

Israel to Syria - More Coming!

I like to think that I don't have a racist bone in my body. Abraham was married to an Ethiopian woman (different race, possibly different color). I am very 'anti-Obama,' but that certainly has nothing to do with the color of his skin (it has everything to do with the color of his mind, which in my opinion is Marxist red!).

And I certainly don't consider myself antisemitic. The Bible says that "There is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, bond nor free." (Galatians 3:28). But I'm not like Televangelist-Prosperity-Preacher John Hagee, who is so 'pro-Israel,' he would let them all into heaven without first becoming a Christian (in other words, without believing in and trusting in our Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation).

The Bible says:

"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the father but by me." - John 14:6

"Look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none else." - Isaiah 45:22

John Hagee seams to be telling his followers a different story. Check out the following podcasts:

Doctors, Remember Your Oath: First Do No Harm!

Doctor Insists Parents of Baby With Cleft Lip Starve Him to Death | LifeNews.com:

"It’s scary. It’s shocking. And its implications are dangerous. How many other hospitals starve babies to death, simply based on a “defect”? How many other doctors instruct new parents to leave their newborns to die or wallow in an institution for the rest of their lives?  We're aware that many doctors in the United States recommend abortions for babies whose potential disabilities show up on ultrasounds or in prenatal testing. We're also aware that, sadly, all too many parents choose abortion in these cases. And all too often, their babies are discovered to either be perfectly 'normal' or the parents later on discover that the disability or defect was one they definitely could have lovingly dealt with, had they only been given accurate and complete information."

Catholic, Protestant Churches Sign Historic Baptism Agreement

In 1994 Evangelical and Roman Catholic scholars signed a document titled, Evangelicals and Catholics together, which sought to get Catholics and Protestants to recognize each other as 'Christian,' and to stop prostlytizing from each others ranks. You can read more about document from the Alpha and Omega Ministries:

A Review and Response to "Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Mellenium"

One good thing that came out of this was an excellent book by Reformed Scholar, R.C. Sproul, titled "Faith Alone - The Evangelical Doctrine of Justification." This book clearly sets forth what is means to be a Protestant and why we can't go back to Rome.

That was then. This is now.  As I was browsing through the newest sermons on Sermonaudio.com today, I came across the following podcast  by Pastor William Sturm:

Catholic, Protestant Churches Sign Historic Baptism Agreement

This agreement says that Catholics and Protestant churches should recognize each other's baptism. Sounds like a sequel to Evangelicals and Catholics Together.

One of the features I have on My Gospel Project is The Daily Spurgeon, a collection of quotes from Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892). There is no doubt in my mind what Pastor Spurgeon would have thought of either the 1994 document, Evangelicals and Catholics Together, or this new push by Protestants and Catholics to recognize each other's baptism. Here is what Pastor Spurgeon had to say about the Reformation and the Reformers who risked their lives and livelihoods to break away from the Roman Catholic Church:

"We admire a man who was firm in the faith, say four hundred years ago...but such a man today is a nuisance, and must be put down. Call him a narrow minded bigot or give him a worse name, if you can think of one.

"Yet imagine that in those ages past Luther, Zwingli, Calvin and their compeers had said, 'The world is out of order,  but if we try to get it right we shall only make a great row, and get ourselves into disgrace. Let us go to our chambers, put on our night caps, and sleep over the bad times, and perhaps when we wake up things will have grown better.'

"Such conduct on their part would have entailed upon us a heritage of error. Age after age would have
gone down into the infernal deeps, and the pestiferous bogs of error would have swallowed all. These men loved the faith and the love of Jesus too well to see them trampled on.

"It is today as it was in the Reformer's days. Decision is needed. Here is the day for the man, where is the man for the day? We who have had the gospel passed to us by martyr hands dare not trifle with it, nor sit by and hear it denied by traitors, who pretend to love it but inwardly abhor every line of it...look you, sirs, there are ages yet to come.

"If the Lord does not speedily appear, there will come another generation, and another, and all those generations will be tainted and injured if we are not faithful to God and to his truth today. We have come to a turning point in the road. If we turn to the right, mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way. But if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to his Word."

Debbie Schlussel Takes On Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, While Joeseph Farah Takes on Fox News

It's the Battle of the conservatives. Well sort of.  Check out Debbie Schlussel's columns where she blasts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity:

On Rush Limbaugh:

Rush Pimps Marco Rubio's "Snoop Dog" Defense for Amnesty

Here is an excerpt from this article:

"Clearly Rush [Limbaugh] is saying, 'Well, amnesty will happen - that's reality. So you are admirable and noteworthy for being a part of it (and pretending to) try to make it safe)...If Rush wanted to get tough on Rubio and really oppose this proposed legislation, he'd have asked Rubio tough questions, like the ones raised here."

On Sean Hannity:

Bleepin Frauds: Sean Hannity Endorses Illegal Alien Amnesty

Here is an excerpt from this article:

"I always told you that Sean Hannity was a fraud and not a conservative, that he would be a left-wing talk show host if that's the way the wind blew, all while he laughed at you all the way to the bank. And now, as the left wing commentator wind blows on the election, Sean Hannity follows like a cheap crack whore chasing after a dollar bill on the street."

And Joseph Farah (WND News) takes on Fox News

Is Fox News Really Different?

Here is an excerpt from this article (the links are included in this article):

"For many Americans, Fox News is their 'alternative choice' for news. They've made it the number 1 cable news network largely because they believe its 'fair and balanced' promotional slogan. Many even believe Fox leans to the right and provides news they can't get anywhere else. But is Fox really different from the rest of the media, or has it been successful at merely positioning itself as different?
Would it surprise you to know that individuals at News Corp., the parent company of Fox News, gave nearly six times as much money to Barack Obama than Mitt Romney in the 2011-2012 election cycle?
Would it surprise you to know that individuals at News Corp. gave more to Rep. Howard Berman, D-Calif., than to Mitt Romney?
Would it surprise you to know that individuals at News Corp. gave more to Ben Cardin, Democrat from Maryland, than to Mitt Romney?
Would it surprise you to know that News Corp. gave more than twice as much to Democratic candidates in 2012 than to Republicans?
Would it surprise you that this pattern was about the same in 2010 and 2008?
Would it surprise you to know that News Corp. gave far more money to Democrats running for both the House and Senate in 2012 than to Republicans?
Do the owners and top managers of Fox News and News Corp. not have the right to support any candidates they want to support?
Of course they do."

The Daily Spurgeon - January 31, 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"They preach of God's love and mercy, as they ought to do; and as God commanded them; but of what avail is it to preach mercy unless they preach also the doom of the wicked? And how shall we effect the purpose of preaching unless we warn men that if they turn not 'God will whet his sword?' I fear that in too many places the doctrine of future punishment is rejected and laughed as fancy and a chimera; but the day will come when it shall be known to be a reality. Ahab scoffed at Micaiah when he said he should never come home alive; the men of Noah's generation laughed at the foolish old man (as they thought him), who bid them take heed that the world should be drowned,  but when they were climbing to the tree tops, and the floods were following them, did they then say that the prophecy was untrue: And when the arrow was sticking in the heart of Ahab, and he said, 'Take me from the battle for I must die,' did he then think that Micaiah spoke an untruth? And so it is now."   (Source Turn or Burn)

Digital Camera is All-Seeing Eye

Digital Camera is All-Seeing Eye:

"Professional digital cameras snap shots with a resolution of 20 or 30 megapixels. Electrical engineer David Brady at Duke University has created a camera that takes one-gigapixel pictures. He and his team arranged 98 microcameras in a dome. A unique computing system knits the 98 snapshots into a billion-pixel image, so detailed that viewers can read a license plate shot from a third of a mile away. The tech could eventually find its way into personal cameras. Meanwhile, Brady and his colleagues started building a five-gigapixel commercial version this past fall."

Would Jesus Watch TV?

I saw an advertisement today that read, "Introduce People to Jesus by Turning on Your TV." My first thought was that a better caption would be: "Get to know Jesus better by Opening Your Bible and leaving the TV off!"

Would Jesus watch TV.  I don't know.  I doubt it. I like to believe that our Lord Jesus would be on the Internet. And to the extent that I quote the Bible on this site and provide links to solid gospel sermons (such as How to Benefit from a Funeral, and Compel them to Come In ), I believe Jesus is speaking through My Gospel Project.

But the Internet is like TV on steroids! Would Jesus sit in front of a TV and watch sitcoms or movies showing people getting murdered or committing adultery? I'm sure he would not. The Bible says:

"I will set no wicked thing before my eyes," - Psalms 101:3

"Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it, for it is a cursed thing." - Deuteronomy 7:26

Ann Coulter Takes on Sen. Marco Rubio's Amnesty Proposal

Rubio's Amnesty: A Path to Oblivion for the GOP

Excerpt:

"The Democrats never change their ideas; they change the voters. For decades, Democrats have been working feverishly to create more Democrats by encouraging divorce (another Democratic voter!), illegitimacy (another Democratic voter!) and Third World immigration (another Democratic voter!).
Strangely, some Republicans seem determined to create more Democratic voters, too. That will be the primary result of Sen. Marco Rubio’s amnesty plan. IT’S NOT AMNESTY! Rubio’s proponents cry. They seem to think they can bully Republicans the way the Democrats do, by controlling the language. Rubio’s bill is nothing but amnesty. It isn’t even “amnesty thinly disguised as border enforcement.” This is a wolf in wolf’s clothing. Despite all the blather about how Rubio demands “Enforcement First!” the very first thing his proposal does is make illegal aliens legal. (Don’t call them “illegal aliens”!). The ability to live and work legally in America is the most valuable commodity in the world; it’s the Hope Diamond of the universe. I know young, well-educated Canadians who waited a decade for that privilege."

Massive Number of U.S. Cities Abandon Bible - WND News

"In times of trouble, many people often wonder, 'Oh, God. Where are you when I need you most?' But with the nation facing drastic financial and social challenges in recent years, a new study ranking American support for the Holy Bible reveals an astounding 91 out 96 U.S. cities – a whopping 95 percent – are not 'Bible-minded.' The Daily Spurgeon - January 30, 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"Now we care not what men mockingly impute to us; we feel it our duty, when men sin, to tell them they shall be punished, and so long as the world will not give up its sin we feel we must not cease our warnings.  But the cry of the age is that God is merciful, that God is love. Ay, who said he was not? But remember, it is equally true, God  is just, equally and inflexibly just. He were not God if he were not just; he could not be merciful if he were not just, for the  punishment of the wicked is demanded by the highest mercy to the rest of mankind. Rest assured, however, that he is just and that the words I'm about to read you from God's word are true - 'The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God.'; 'God is angry with the wicked every day.'; 'If he turn not, God will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;'...How few there are that solemnly tell us of the judgments to come." (Source Turn or Burn)

Union Bosses Headed to Vegas to Salivate Over Obama's Amnesty Plan - Twitchy US Politics

Excerpt:

"Just in case you had any remaining delusions that the modern labor movement cares about its members’ jobs, note that the union top brass are all coming to President Obama’s big rally tomorrow in favor of 'immigration reform.' ...What does Obama’s accelerated path to citizenship do for American union workers? Well, nothing — except maybe put them out of work in favor of lower wage non-union former-illegals. However, if you’re a labor mafia boss, amnesty means lots more people from whom to extort money. "

According to an article in The Arizona Daily Star, January 24, 2013, "Union membership plummeted last year to the lowest level since the 1930s..." (Unions Suffer Sharp Drop in Membership).

I'm not a fan of unions (although I love the pro-union song, Solidarity Forever, written by Ralph Chaplin in 1915). I realize that many of the things we take for granted today have come either directly or indirectly from labor union.  For example, consider the following list from What Have Unions Done For America?):

End child labor
8 hour work day
40 hour work week
Paid Overtime
Weekends (yes, they didn’t exist as days off before unions)
Workers compensation for people injured on the job
Unemployment insurance
Paid sick leave, vacations, and holidays as standard benefits for most workers
Health Insurance for many workers
Pensions or 401Ks for many workers
Improve workplace safety and reduce on the job fatalities
Pushed for Civil Right Acts and Title VII which outlaws job discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin
Occupational Safety and Health Act
Family Medical Leave Act
Push for livable minimum wage

I would like to think that employers would respect their workers enough to provide all these benefits without unions (or the government) getting involved and basically forcing them to do so. I realize that is not the case.

But I don't want to comment on the pros or cons of unions here. Rather I just want to take this opportunity, to plug Patrick Buchanan's excellent book: The Great Betrayal: How American Sovereignty and Social Justice are Being Sacrificed to the Gods of the Global Economy.

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"Two hundred years ago the prominent strain of the pulpit was one of terror: it was like Mount Sinai, it thundered forth the dreadful wrath of God, and from the lips of a Baxter or a Bunyan, you heard most terrible sermons, full to the brim with warnings of judgments to come. Perhaps some of the Puritanical fathers may have gone too far and may have given too great a prominence to the terrors of the Lord in their ministry: but the age in which we live has sought to forget those terrors altogether, and if we dare to tell men that God will punish them for their sins it is charged upon us that we want to bully them into religion, and if we faithfully and honestly tell our hearers that sin must bring after it certain destruction, it is said that we are attempting to frighten them into goodness." Please Don't Send Me to ... America?

I grew up in a church that had a long history of supporting missionaries to other countries. And so when I first heard the song, Please Don't Send Me to Africa, it brought me back to my child hood days sitting in church listening to some missionary speak of the work he or she was doing in so distant land. Here is the chorus to this cute song:

"Please don't send me to Africa
I'm sure I don't have what it takes
I'm just a man, I'm not a Tarzan
Don't like monkeys, gorillas or snakes.
I'll serve you well in suburbia, in my comfortable middle class life
But please don't send me to Africa
Where the natives are restless at night."

Today I listened to a sermon that might have been called The Sequel to Please Don't Send Me to Africa. This sermon is by Keith Daniels of South Africa and it is titled:  A Warning To America.

Here is just a short excerpt from this very powerful - and even scary - sermon:

"But now my children and my wife were coming back to America and we were going to have six days in New York... And as I was walking, suddenly, my heart sank. Because I saw buildings suddenly with neon lights that were so filthy what was being advertised on those neon lights...I could not believe my eyes at such filth and depravity was so public and my heart just sank. And I said, No God, no. And I began to cry. If it was so filthy outside can you inagine how defiled a human would be inside if you walked in...?...I turned around and looked at another building and it was worse, more bigger, more defiling...  And I began to weep aload, and I said, 'God, I can't bring my children to New York.'... I said, no, you defile your child bringing your child to America. You defile you child bringing him to New York, the greatest city in the world....And I began to weep, and I began to weep loader than I thought I was weeping, I wept so load I was standing there sobbing...and I lifted my hands up and I was shouting, I didn't know I was shoutiing, I was not trying to be fanatical...I cried so loud in my anger that I couldn't bring my children to the city without defiling them. I cried out 'God I'll do anything but close these building down God close these buildings down! They're defiling the children...God this is defiling, this is defiling. Close these buildings down...in Jesus Name I wept. A few hundred people were standing still...I looked at their faces and most of them had tears coming down their faces..."

The Daily Spurgeon - January 27, 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"The enemy, like a fisherman, watches his fish, adapts his bait to his prey; and knows in what seasons and times the fish are most likely to bite. This hunter of souls comes upon us unawares, and often we are overtaken in a fault, or caught in a trap through an unwatchful frame of mind...Satan turneth himself into that shape which we least fear, and sets before us such objects of temptation as are most agreeable to our natures, that he may soon draw us into his net. He sails with every wind, and blows us that way which we incline ourselves through the weakness of nature. Is our knowledge in matters of faith deficient? He tempts us to error...Are we hot in matters of religion?   He tempteth us to blind zeal and superstition. Are we cold? He tempteth us to Laodicean lukewarmness. Thus doth he lay his traps, that one way or another, he may ensnare us."(From Spurgeon's sermon, Satan Considering the Saints).

For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

The Eye and the Snowflake

The Eye and the Snowflake

I watched 2 You Tube videos on the eye tonight.  The first video was by an evolutionist. The second video was by a creationist.

The first video was put out by DNA Learning Center. It is titled The Eye and Irreducible Complexity - Creationism Debunked . The lady in this video tries to make the case that it is perfectly reasonable to believe that the eye evolved - step by step - over millions of years into the complex organ that it is today. I was not convince, but then it would take a lot to convince me - at the very least, some hard evidence. And that was lacking in this video.

But what really was lacking is any mention of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. The people in this video talk about the eye evolving - little by little - over millions of years, as if it were perfectly natural for things to go from simple to complex, from unorganized to organized. Unfortunately, science tells us a different story.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics refutes the idea that things go from simple to complex and from unorganized to organized. See the You Tube video, The Second Law of Thermodynamics Broken by Evolutionists.

And the idea that 'random mutations' create more functional organisms is certainly not supported by the facts. Random mutations are almost always harmful to the organism. See the You Tube video Mutation is a Destroyer, by NephilimFree.

I don't expect this short post to convince atheists and evolutionists that there is a God. The Bible says that "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17). And so while I hope everyone reading this post will take the time to watch the videos I have linked to, what I would really like them to do is click on the following link and listen to that Word of God preached by that latter day Puritan Charles Haddon Spurgeon:

Compel them to Come In

Obama's New Litmus Test for Military Leaders - "Will You Fire On American Citizens?"

Shock Claim: "The New Litmus Test of Leadership in the Military is if they WILL fire on US Citizens or NOT" - SHTFPlan.com

Excerpt:

"I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new 'litmus test' in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks.  'The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not.' Those who will not are being removed."- Dr. Jim Garrow

The Battle of Athens, August 1946

I recommend a lot of sermons and podcasts on this site. I don't recommend many movies (check out Dr. David Murray's sermon, Should Christians Watch Movies?). But I want to recommend one today. Actually, it is not a movie so much as a short video. It is the reenactment of a true story that has come to be known as The Battle of Athens. Here is a description of this short video (13 minutes) on WND News:

"For a decade before World War II and afterward, a corrupt political machine ran the town. But veterans returning from the war didn’t like what they found in their hometown. So they fielded opposition candidates for sheriff and state senate. But the machine politicians seized the ballot boxes to ensure they would not be ousted by a popular political vote. The vets grabbed what today would be called “assault weapons” – you know, the kind that shoot one round at a time while another round enters the chamber, just like 90 percent of today’s firearms. They surrounded the town jail where the ballot boxes were being secured. When the machine politicians refused to turn over the ballot boxes, the veterans blew up the jail and took possession of the ballots. Not surprisingly, they found the challengers had won the election fair and square."  Guns Are Only Answer to Criminal Government

Henry Kissinger Predicts Nuclear War With Iran

Kissinger Predicts Nuclear War With Iran - Infowars.com

Excerpt:

"Globalist kingpin, renowned war criminal and Rockefeller co-conspirator Henry Kissinger is talking up a nuclear conflagration. Speaking at the one-worlder confab held in Davos, Switzerland, Kissinger said a crisis involving a nuclear Iran in the 'foreseeable future' will lead to a nuclear war and “a turning point in human history,” the BBC reports.

There are some people who believe 9/11 was the result of a government conspiracy. I'm not necessarily one of them. But I do know that there were wealthy and powerful people in America - both Republicans and Democrats - that wanted something like 9/11 to occur, so they could use it to scare  Americans into going along with legislation like the Patriot Act.

And there are people today that believe the Sandy Hook Massacre was the result of a government conspiracy. Again, I am not necessarily one of them. But there is no doubt that Obama is pushing to totally disarm Americans, and when a horrendous crime like Sandy Hook occurs, he is quick to exploit it to further his agenda.

And so when I read that Henry Kissinger is predicting nuclear war with Iran, I take it serious. First, it is utterly amazing that the world has not had some form of limited nuclear war since Democratic President Harry Truman dropped the bomb on Japan in 1945, killing hundreds of thousands of men, women and children - mostly civilians!

But the world is only a hairs breath right now from accepting a one world government, and those, like Henry Kissinger who have devoted their lives to this cause, know that all it would take to scare the world into accepting this would be to have a limited nuclear war.

Consider Mr. Kissingers comment made in 1992:

"Today Americans would be outraged if UN troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially true if they were told that there was an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world rulers to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being
guaranteed by their world government." (Source)

Before the UN can (safely!) send in troops to any American town or city, their servant, Mr. Obama, has to destroy the Second Amendment and take away our guns!  When that happens - not if, but when - I predict that the UN will begin to show its teeth.

The Daily Spurgeon - January 26, 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"When the arch-spy finds a weak place in the wall of our castle, he takes care to plant his battering ram,  and begin his siege.  You may conceal, even from your dearest friend, your infirmity, but you will not conceal it from your worst enemy. He has lynx eyes, and detects in a moment the joint in your harness. He goes about with a match, and though you may think that you have covered all the gunpowder of your heart, yet he knows how to find a crack and to put his match through, and much mischief will he do, unless eternal mercy shall prevent."   (From Spurgeon's sermon, Satan Considering the Saints).

Is Obama Rewriting History?

Buchanan: Obama Rewriting History:

"The freedom of all Americans to compete academically, athletically, artistically and economically must inevitably result in an inequality of incomes, wealth and rewards. Why? Because all men and women are by nature and nurture unequal. Some are talented, ambitious, industrious, lucky. And in a free society, such men and women will always reap a disproportionate share of fame and fortune. The only way to equalize rewards is to take from those who have earned and give to those who have not. And that requires the kind of redistributionst regime the Founding Fathers would have risen up against. As Obama’s America rises, the old republic falls."

Women in Combat: Be Careful What You Wish For!

Check out this great article by Jessie Jane Duff:

Women in Combat: Be Careful What You Wish For

Excerpt from this article:

"On Thursday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced that the U.S. military would lift its long-standing ban on women in combat. The national media, as can be expected, is popping the champagne corks in celebration. But is it a good thing? As a woman and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, I’m not so sure. To those who have been agitating for this step, I say this: be careful what you wish for...Moreover, the military cannot ensure women’s safety as it is. A recent documentary, "The Invisible War,” notes that over 15,000 women were sexually assaulted in 2011 alone. The odds of being sexually assaulted by a fellow service member are higher than being killed by the enemy."

You may want to check out Doonsbury on Sexual Assaults in Military (which is his take on the documentary The Invisible war, which deals with women being raped in the U.S. military)

Meet 'Mr. Climate,' by Doug Powers

Was Abraham Lincoln Opposed to 'The Manifest Destiny?'

I was reading the article, Same Bibles, Different Theologies and Histories, and I came across this small tidbit of information (I'm assuming it is accurate!):

"[Lincoln] adamantly opposed Manifest Destiny and the seizing of half of Mexico's national territory - which helped cause the Civil War.'

I've always been a firm believer that immigration - legal immigration - is what has made America a great country. My grandparents immigrated to America over 100 years ago from Scandinavia, and if they hadn't I would be speaking Norwegian today (not that there is anything wrong with speaking Norwegian!).

But I've often wondered what God thinks about America - both today, with it's 55 million aborted babies to its credit - but also over the past 200 with such monstrous injustices as slavery, making - and breaking - countless treaties with the natives who have occupied this country for centuries prior to the white man's arrival - and yes, even America's acquiring (stealing?) a sizable portion of Mexican Territory after the Mexican American war (1846-1848).

The Bible says:

"The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nation's that forget God." - Psalms 9:17

I originally was going to title this post "America: Love it or Leave It - While You Still Can!" (Check out Country singer Meryl Haggard's old song  Walkin on the Fightin Side of Me). But I think a more godly response is to humbly submit to our leaders - including President Obama - and seek to live quiet lives in obedience to our God.

Please take some time to listen to this important sermon by Dr. David Murray, which was preached right after Barack Obama was first elected President in 2008:

Render to Obama

Note: I still think Obama is a good candidate for the Antichrist (see my post, Is Obama the Antichrist? I Say Yes!)
