Compel Them to Come In, by Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892)

This sermon was preached in 1858, but it is just as relevant for today as if it were preached this morning! The text for Pastor Spurgeon's sermon is Luke 14:23 (Audio):

"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

Spurgeon once said, 'Wherever the gospel is preached, the most wicked of men and women are made to sit at the Savior's feet, clothed and in their right minds."

Daily Sermon for the Hearing Impaired: To Be or Not to Be

To Be or Not to Be, by Joe W. Allen [Text: Ezekiel 3:16-21 (Audio)]

Note: This daily sermon for the hearing impaired is dedicated to my good friend, David J. Bishop, who went home to be with his Lord Jesus on July 1, 2021. David was the inspiration for me to begin posting links to sermons for the hearing impaired. David's not deaf anymore. And the first words he heard were from our Lord Jesus, saying to him, "Well done, David, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of thy Lord!" [Matthew 25:21 (Audio)]

Here is one of the last pictures David sent to me before he died. He was a big sports fan and LOVED the Seattle Seahawks! But David loved our Lord Jesus much, much more!

"Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

"My friend I stand in Judgment now
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
While on this earth I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way.

"You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to him.

"Though we lived together here on earth
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention him.

"You taught me many things, that's true,
I called you friend, and trusted you.
But now I learned, now it's too late,
You could have kept me from this fate.

"We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, love and die,
And all the while you knew I'd never live on high.

"Yes, I called you friend in life,
And trusted you in joy and strife.
Yet in coming to this end,
I see you really weren't my friend!"
-My Friend, by D.J. Higgins

Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC) Q & A #31-#33 (1646,1647)

#31 Question: What is effectual calling?

Answer: Effectual calling is the work of God’s Spirit, whereby, convincing us of our sin and misery, enlightening our minds in the knowledge of Christ, and renewing our wills, he doth persuade and enable us to embrace Jesus Christ, freely offered to us in the gospel.

#32 Question: What benefits do they that are effectually called partake of in this life?

Answer: They that are effectually called do in this life partake of justification, adoption, and sanctification, and the several benefits which in this life do either accompany or flow from them.

 #33 Question: What is justification?

Answer: Justification is an act of God’s free grace, wherein he pardoneth all our sins, and accepteth us as righteous in his sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and received by faith alone.

Andy Stanley Says 10 Commandments Do Not Apply to Christians - christianpost.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Christians should quite erecting Ten Commandments displays and should instead consider making monuments dedicated to the Sermon on the Mount, popular pastor Andy Stanley said."
--------------------------------

Our Lord Jesus said,

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these lease commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:17-19 (Audio)

"Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may become guilty before God.  Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

And behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" - Revelation 22:11,12

"The most immediat effect of the Vietnam War was the staggering death toll. The war killed an estimated 2 million Vietnamese civilians, 11 North Vietnamwese troops, 200,000 South Vietnamese troops, and 58,000 U.S. troops."

Those deaths did not come from defending America, or defending the glories of communism. They need to be laid at the feet of the Deep State - the same Deep State that has been trying to overthrow a duly elected American President for the past 3 years.
