"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

Spurgeon once said, 'Wherever the gospel is preached, the most wicked of men and women are made to sit at the Savior's feet, clothed and in their right minds."

Daily Quote for Friday, July 1, 2022

"Most people know the Nineteenth Amendment granting women suffrage was passed in 1919 and ratified by the states the following year. What few people know is there was a forty year struggle over that amendment, with Republicans pushing for it and Democrats opposing it, until Republicans finally had the votes to get it through. Republicans proposed women's suffrage as early as 1878, but it was voted down by a Democrat controlled congress. Republicans reintroduced the issue each year...Only when the GOP won landslide majorities in both houses in 1918 did the Nineteenth Amendment finally  have the necessary two-thirds majority to pass." - Hillary's America - The Secret history of the Democratic Party (Video), by Dinesh D'Souza

Daily Sermon for the Hearing Impaired: A Celebration of Future Blessing

A Celebration of Future Blessing,  by Joe W. Allen [Text: Ephesians (Audio)]

Note: This daily sermon for the hearing impaired is dedicated to my good friend, David J. Bishop, who went home to be with his Lord Jesus on July 1, 2021. David was the inspiration for me to begin posting links to sermons for the hearing impaired. David's not deaf anymore. And the first words he heard were from our Lord Jesus, saying to him, "Well done, David, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of thy Lord!" [Matthew 25:21 (Audio)]

Here is one of the last pictures David sent to me before he died. He was a big sports fan and LOVED the Seattle Seahawks! But David loved our Lord Jesus much, much more!

"Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

"My friend I stand in Judgment now
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
While on this earth I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way.

"You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to him.

"Though we lived together here on earth
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention him.

"You taught me many things, that's true,
I called you friend and trusted you.
But now I learned, now it's too late,
You could have kept me from this fate.

"We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, love and die,
And all the while you knew I'd never live on high.

"Yes, I called you friend in life,
And trusted you in joy and strife.
Yet in coming to this end,
I see you really weren't my friend!"
-My Friend, by D.J. Higgins

Question What doth the conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?

Answer:  The conclusion of the Lord’s Prayer (which is, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever, Amen) teacheth us to take our encouragement in prayer from God only, and in our prayers to praise him, ascribing kingdom, power, and glory to him. And, in testimony of our desire, and assurance to be heard, we say, Amen.”

Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC) Q & A #104-106 (1646,1647)

#104 Question: What do we pray for in the fourth petition?

Answer: In the fourth petition, which is, Give us this day our daily bread, we pray that of God's free gift we may receive a competent portion of the good things of this life, and enjoy his blessing with them.

#105 Question: What do we pray for in the fifth petition?

Answer:  In the fifth petition, which is, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, we pray that God, for Christ's sake, would freely pardon all our sins; which we are the rather encouraged to ask, because by his grace we are enabled from the heart to forgive others.

#106 Question: What Do We Pray for in the Sixth Petition?

Answer: In the Sixth Petition (Which is, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil), we pray, that God would either keep us from being tempted to sin, or support and deliver us when we are tempted.

A Malediction:

The judges sat outside the law
And in their pride no evil saw
In setting teeth to Satan's jaw
And feeding him our children.

A curse, a curse, the law it cries
A curse, a curse, on mankind's pride
A curse on him who would deny
God's image in mankind.

When viewed in terms of cost and ease
An unborn child is a disease
A holocaust soon fit to please
Our own convenience.

Torn from out their mother's womb
Denied the sky, denied the tomb
Conceived in lust to their own ruin
A sacrifice to pleasure.

A Curse, a curse their blood cries out
A curse, a curse the heavens shout!
A curse on him who dares to flout
God's image in mankind.

The doctors with their blood-red hands
Who loved their money more than man.
With greed their god they lay their plan
The butchers of mankind.

Oh, rid us of this evil Lord
And turn our hearts by cross or sword
Our nation cannot long afford
To live beneath your anger.

A Curse, a curse upon their heads
O, save them Lord, or slay them dead!
And fill our country with your dread
And turn away your anger.
