It's Only Friday - And Sunday's Coming!

It's Only Friday - And Sunday's Coming! by Rev. Ian Brown

The text for this sermon is John 20:19 & 20 (Audio):

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.”

When she told Christians they'd get cancer from eating Chick-fil-A, I was nauseated...Roseanne is a repugnant loon. It's been a long time since she didn't stink."

Thoughts for Tuesday, May 29, 2018

"But the change will come only when we have slammed the system up against the wall and stared it down, and made it responsive to us. It is not unpatriotic to criticize one's country. It is essential. I think of the wife of a drunk who covers, apologize and makes excuses for him because she loves him too much, and thereby enables him to continue in his oppression and destruction.  In the same way, we must stop enabling our system to continue its injustices because, we too, love it so unconditionally that we fail to demand it reform, that is, be responsible." -  With Justice for None - Destroying an American Myth, by Gerry Spence (Attorney)

From the Editors Desk....

Evangelist Rolfe Barnard passed away in 1969. Two years before the Lord took him home, he preached a sermon on Proverbs 29:1 (Audio):

"He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."

The title of this sermon was The God of the Bible Kills People.

Here is an excerpt from this solemn sermon:

I was in a city in Oklahoma. The pastor came and asked me to hold meetings. Seven deacons of that church came to the pastor and said, " Now, brother pastor, we're not going to oppose anything. We just don't believe in this emotionalism. And we don't believe in what you call evangelistic campaigns." And they said, "We'll just not be back until this preacher's gone and the meetings are over."

The pastor said, "Well, I hate to see you take that attitude, but if that's what you want to do I appreciate you coming and telling me."

Well, you know, if they'd had done what they said they would do it would have been alright. But we couldn't get a crowd for a few nights, and we was hitting it pretty hard. And those fellas were glad and they got to bragging about how we weren't getting anywhere in the meetings. They violated their word that they weren't going to oppose us. And the pastor came to me and he was broken-hearted.

And he said, "Brother Barnard, it's killing me. What can we do?" I said, "I don't know. Are you game for us to get down on our knees to ask God to either save them or kill them?" He said, "Yes, I'm game." And so we got down on our knees and said "Lord, you know what these men are doing. They're ruining the meeting and making fun of the gospel and the church and the Lord Jesus Christ and God's preachers." And we said, "Lord, save them or kill them."

And somehow or another word got out to the deacons about our prayer, and they just cackled and had a big time and said, "The preachers up there are praying for God to kill us."

But we weren't praying for God to kill them. We were praying for God to save them or kill them. Get them out of the way. They were bucking God, they were hardening themselves against God. And I think that's dangerous.

And so they just laughed and had a big time. And in 4 days time, the Pastor had 7 different funerals, and the 7 different funerals were the 7 Baptist deacons, and every one of them died a horrible sudden death.

God kills people that harden themselves against his claims for Jesus Christ.

A Permissive Generation

A Permissive Generation, by Rev. Ian Brown [Note: This sermon was preached May 27, 2018]

The text for this sermon is Ecclesiastes 2:10 (Audio):

"And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour."

BIble Reading For Monday, May 28, 2018

If you follow this Bible reading plan, you will read the Bible through every year, and you will read the Proverbs and the Psalms once every month. And under each chapter below I have selected one or more sermons on that chapter from SermonAudio.com. If English is not your primary language, check out Biblegateway.com and see if you can find a Bible in your native language.

I'm relying on the following website for much of this daily post: Read The Bible in One Year.

"For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest part of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, being yet unperfect, and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

Deep State Freaks Out After Trump Slams 'Criminal Deep State'

Deep State Freaks Out After Trump Slams 'Criminal Deep State' - thenewamerican.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Trump's explosive comments come amid growing awareness among Americans about the so-called Deep State, with the latest polls showing three in four are troubled by the existence of this unelected network that secretly directs national policy. The president's remarks, as well as growing calls for criminal investigations, are likely to pour fuel on the fire as Americans seek to rein in the federal government and the shadowy forces that have hijackedc and weaponized it."

If President Trump really wants to crush the Deep State, I can think of no better way to do it than for him to use his own money to sent a copy of the following book to every man, woman and child in America:

None Dare Call it Conspiracy, by Gary Allen (Published 1971)
