Foreign Boots on American Soil: Russia to Share "Military Experts" with United States During Mass Disaster Incidents and Emergencies - shtfplan.com

"Should our country come under threat we can now fully expect soldiers speaking broken English forcing their way through our front doors in similar fashion to what we saw in the wake of the Boston bombings."

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissenger said in 1992:

"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government." (Source

AP's Wiseman Indirectly Reveals That Top Half of Households Is Over $4 Trillion Richer, While Bottom Half Is 40%-60% Poorer

AP's Wiseman Indirectly Reveals That Top Half of Households Is Over $4 Trillion Richer, While Bottom Half Is 40%-60% Poorer | NewsBusters:

"On Sunday, in a report which I contend would surely have been published on a weekday -- and more importantly, published with far greater clarity -- if a Republican or conservative were in the White House, the Associated Press's Paul Wiseman essentially explored the following question: "Why aren't people spending more if they're so much richer?" The answer he found, which should surprise no one in touch with reality, is that quite a few of us aren't richer. We're poorer. "

The Bible Says:

"Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."

And our Lord Jesus says:

"For what is it profited if a man shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?":

Economist Caution: Prepare For 'Massive Wealth Destruction'

Economist Caution: Prepare For 'Massive Wealth Destruction':

"Take immediate steps to protect your wealth . . . NOW! That’s exactly what many well-respected economists, billionaires, and noted authors are telling you to do — experts such as Marc Faber, Peter Schiff, Donald Trump, and Robert Wiedemer. According to them, we are on the verge of another recession, and this one will be far worse than what we experienced during the last financial crisis."

U.S.-EU Free Trade Zone Faces Obstacle

U.S.-EU free trade zone faces obstacle:

"The United States and the European Union are on the verge of establishing a trans-Atlantic free trade agreement, possibly by next month. Its approval would help maintain the West’s global preeminence as economic trends indicate a shift toward Asia, according to report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin."

Free trade sounds good. And for many countries it has been good. I'm not so sure that America is one of those countries that have benefited from Free Trade, however.  Consider the following excerpt from Patrick Buchanan's book: The Great Betrayal: How American Sovereignty and Social Justice are Being Sacrificed to the Gods of the Global Economy:

"No site better captures yesterday's America than Detroit, forge and furnace of America's democracy. Detroit is the burned out case of American cities. The Empire of the Sun has its revenge. Japanese imports helped kill the city that built the weapons that destroyed the empire. Now grandsons of the soldiers of the imperial army work at high paying manufacturing jobs once held by the fathers of ten-dollar-an-hour retail clerks in Macomb County.

"But why blame the Japanese? We did it to ourselves. We Americans created a post war trading regime, in which, over 25 years, Japan bought 400,000 American cars while selling us 40 million Japanese cars, a ratio of 100:1. One president after another sat still while a third of America'a greatest industry was shipped off to Japan...

"Americans no longer make their own cameras, shoes, radios, TVs, toys. A fifth of our steal, a third of our autos, half our machine tools, and two-thirds of our textiles are made abroad...

"The decline and fall of Middle America was neither preordained nor inevitable. It was engineered in Washington D.C. Wages have fallen and the standard of living of American families has stagnated because of a basic law: the law of supply and demand. The price of labor has been dropping because the supply of labor has exploded...

"Having declared free trade and open borders to be American policy, why are we surprised that corporate executives padlocked their plants in the Rust Belt and moved over seas?  Why keep your plants here when you can manufacture at a fraction of the cost abroad, ship your goods back, and pocket the windfall profits that come from firing $20 an hour Americans and hiring fifty-cent-an-hour Asians? A pair of Nikes that sells for $150 in the United States costs $5 in wages to make in Indonesia. Any wonder that Nike president Philip Knight is the fifth richest man in America, with $5.2 billion, while his Indonesian workers make 31 cents an hour?" (Emphasis mine)

Comic Theology

I enjoy reading the comics in the local paper. In one of the comics in yesterday's paper a husband and wife were talking about, of all things, death. The wife asks her husband what he's going to ask God after he dies. He tells her that he's going to ask what happened to all of the socks he's lost over the years. Then she asks if that is the only question he is going to ask God. Her husband say, no, he'll also ask him about the meaning of life.

OK, I laughed. It was a comic. And it was funny. But there is some deep theology in this short comic strip. The idea is being conveyed that when we die, we are going to be able to "sit down with God" and have him answer all of our burning questions. All of our "Whys," so to speak. But the Bible gives a much different view of what will happen after we die.

Hebrews 9:27 says: "As it is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgement."

Romans 3:19 says: "Now we know that what things so ever the law sayeth, it sayeth unto them that are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God."

Revelation 20:15 says: "Whosoever was not written in the Lamb's Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

The late Dr. Francis Schaffer once said (actually, I think he was commenting on a quote by the late Eric Hoffer):

"When freedom destroys order, the yearning for order will destroy freedom. At that point the words left or right will make no difference. They are only two roads to the same end. There is no difference between an authoritarian government from the right or the left: the results are the same. An elite...will gradually force form on society so that it will not go on to chaos. And most people will accept it  - from the desire for personal peace and affluence, from apathy, and from the yearning for order to assure the functioning of some political system, business and the affairs of daily life. That is just what they did with Caesar Augustus." (Source)

The Case for Polygamy: What's Magical About the Number 2 (or 18!)?

The case for polygamy | The Daily Caller:

"Discussing the Supreme Court’s decision on gay marriage recently, Sen. Rand Paul joked about bestiality. This was unwise. If Paul wanted to make the slippery slope argument, the case for polygamy is much more compelling — and realistic. This is not some straw man argument. As BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins pointed out, polygamists are, in fact, celebrating the court’s decision. And they have every reason to do so. After all, why shouldn’t marriage equality apply to them, too?"

The Daily Spurgeon - June 27, 2013

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"Charles IX of France, in his youth, had humane and tender sensibilities. The fiend who had tempted him was the mother who had nursed him. When she first proposed to him the massacre of the Huguenots, he shrank from it with horror: 'No, no, madam! They are my loving subjects." Then was the critical hour of his life. Had he cherished that natural sensitiveness to bloodshed, St. Bartholomew's Eve would never have disgraced the history of his kingdom, and he himself would have escaped the fearful remorse which crazed him on his death bed. To his physician he said in his last hours, 'Asleep or awake, I see the mangled forms of the Huguenots passing before me. They point to their open wounds, and mock me. Oh, that I had spared at least the little infants at the breast!' Then he broke out in agonizing cries and screams. Bloody sweat oozed from the pores of his skin. He was one of the very few cases in history which confirm the possibility of the phenomenon which attended our Lord's anguish in Gethsemane." - Austin Phelps, as quoted in Spurgeon's Sermon Notes

Gay "Tolerance" and A Colorado Bakery

The Recliner Commentaries: Gay "tolerance" and a Colorado bakery:

"A gay couple in Colorado is now suing a Christian bakery owner for refusing to bake a cake for them.  The gay couple is claiming discrimination. I'm not sure I agree with this Christian baker's convictions. Would he refuse to provide a cake for an adulterer, drug abuser or alcoholic? Would he refuse to provide a cake for a party if he knew alcohol was likely to be abused there?  If not, he needs to be consistent. Limbaugh: Democrats Push Amnesty to Replace 52 Million Aborted Since 1973 | CNS News:

"Democrats are pushing  hard for some form of amnesty in the immigration bill for the estimated 11 million illegal aliens in the United States partly because they are looking to replace the 52 million Americans who never entered the workforce  -- and never paid federal taxes -- but instead were victims of abortion since Roe v. Wade, said conservative Rush Limbaugh on his talk-radio program."

The Baptist Bearing Robes and Incense

The Baptist Bearing Robes and Incense | Christianity Today:

"There is a solemn procession to the altar. The choir is chanting. A bishop in a long, black robe and a full, gray beard swings an incense burner back and forth. We bow. We cross ourselves. It's a typical Sunday service at the Evangelical Baptist Church of Georgia. 'Yes. Baptist.'"

Reading things like this give the impression of compromise - Roman Catholics giving up some ground, Evangelical Christians giving up some ground - trying to meet in the middle. According to Dr. Michael Horton though, this isn't the case at all. Here is a short excerpt from his introduction to R. C. Sproul's Great book: Faith Alone: The Evangelical Doctrine of Justification:

"Has Rome's position changed? In fact, it has not. The Vatican documents, as well as the New Catechism of the Catholic Church reinvoke the theological position of the Council of Trent, condemning the Gospel of justification by an imputed righteousness. If it is not Rome that has altered its position in favor of the gospel, then it must be the other partner that has moved from its earlier position."

What? The mainstream media for years has been lockstep behind the president in affirming his birth in Hawaii, even derisively labeling those who question the official story as 'birthers.' And in fact, Talking Points Memo reports that within 90 minutes of the story’s publication, Yahoo! Welcome to Obama’s New World Order

Column: Welcome to Obama’s new world order | Washington Free Beacon:

“'The wall belongs to history,' President Barack Obama said, near the end of his speech in Berlin Wednesday. The Berlin Wall, which fell in November 1989, was not the only one he had in mind. Wherever liberal opinion perceives a barrier, physical or spiritual, to human equality, Obama argued, we must take out our chisels and pickaxes. 'As long as walls exist in our hearts to separate us from those who don’t look like us, or think like us, or worship as we do,' he said, 'then we’re going to have to work harder, together, to bring those walls of division down.'”

Patrick Buchanan on: The Palin Doctrine ("Let Allah Sort it Out!")

First, a quick review of American History.  In 1823 President James Monroe came out with "The Monroe Doctrine." According to Simple English Wikipedia, this went as follows:

"European powers do not belong in the Americas."

Now, on to Patrick Buchanan's article in cnsnews.com:

The Palin Doctrine:

"On U.S. military intervention in Syria's civil war, where 'both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line 'Allahu akbar' ... I say let Allah sort it out.' So said Sarah Palin to the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference. And, as is not infrequently the case, she nailed it... Four fundamental changes make it 'no longer realistic, or even desirable, for the US to dominate' the Middle East as we did from the Suez crisis of 1956 through the Iraq invasion of 2003. The four changes: the failures of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, the Great Recession, the Arab Spring and emerging U.S. energy independence."
