Amos 8:11,12 And the Internet Kill Switch

Americans often refer to their federal government as 'Big Brother.' But in reality, that term better describes the United Nations. In the Months and years to come, it will be the United Nations, and not Washington, that seeks to control the citizens of this country.

According to an article in The New American, the UN [is going] to Seek Internet Kill Switch Next Month.Conservatives in America are horrified at the thought of the United Nations having the power to 'turn off the Internet.' The Internet - and the independent press that uses the Internet - are the last hope for any checks on the corrupt administration of Barack Obama (see Boot out the Most Corrupt Administration in American History).

But there is something much more ominous about the United Nations having he power to turn off the Internet. The Internet has become increasingly useful in bringing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the far reaches of the globe.

If the United Nations gains power over the Internet, it can pick and choose which sites are allowed to be seen - and with Christians being more and more a hated minority in this world, it is not hard to imagine a day when the Untied Nations - the world's Big Brother - will choose to ban all but the most liberal, apostate 'Christian' sites from the Internet (while allowing the multi-billion dollar porn industry to flow freely over the Net!).

One of the sites that would no doubt be banned is My Gospel Project. This is a very small, one man project, designed to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the ends of the world.

Another site which would almost surly be banned is Sermonaudio.com, with their library of almost 600,000 "Free sermons from conservative churches worldwide." That would truly be a tragedy for the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, and a great victory for Satan.

And yet, as our Lord himself has said, "The scriptures must be fulfilled." (Mark 14:49).  The Bible says:

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the North even to the East, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." (Amos 8:11,12)
