"If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they will perish, let them perish with our arms around their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for." - Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

If you're looking for one easy-to-read book that explains what the Protestant Reformation was (and Is!) all about, I recommend Faith Alone: The Evangelical Doctrine of Justification, by the late R.C. Sproul (1939-2017). I provided links below where you can purchase this book. Here are 3 quotations
from Faith Alone:

"Does saving faith require a trust in the righteousness of Christ alone as the grounds of our justification? Or may a person have a different view of the gospel and still be a Christian?"

"The Reformation was waged, not over the issue of justification by faith, but over the issue of justification by faith alone. It was the Sola of Sola Fide that was the central point of dispute."

" Agreement between Rome and Evangelicals can be reached in several ways. One is for Evangelicals to abandon their historic position of Sola Fide. A second is for Rome to adopt Sola Fide as its official doctrine. The third is for an agreement to be reached that Sola Fide is not essential to the gospel."
Why don't you get your own copy of this great book?

God's Probing Questions Regarding Our First Parent's Sin, by Rev. Cornelis (Neil) Pronk

The text for this sermon is Genesis 3:7-19 (Audio)

Daily Quote for Monday, October 29, 2018

I believe, ultimately, in 99.9% of instances, the major reason that most Christian leaders and others in the Church will not stand on six literal days has nothing to do with what the Bible ultimately says, and everything to do with outside influences used to reinterpret the Bible...I often go to churches and they'll say to me, 'Oh, we believe in a local flood here, or we accept the Framework hypothesis in our denomination, or we're gap theorists here, Oh, we're progressive Creationists here, Oh, we're theistic evolutionists.' And they say to me, 'What's your position?' And I say, 'Oh, the Biblical one.'" - Ken Ham - from the sermon Six Days & the Eisegesis Problem

Hard Truth About Abortion

Note: This is a hard video to watch, both because of its subject matter, but also because of the song that goes along with it. It is a great song, but the audio quality is not very good. I suggest you watch the whole video, but when they come to the song, turn the volume down and just read the lyrics below!

A Malediction:

The judges sat outside the law
And in their pride no evil saw
In setting teeth to Satan's jaw
And feeding him our children.

A curse, a curse, the law it cries
A curse, a curse, on mankind's pride
A curse on him who would deny
God's image in mankind.

When viewed in terms of cost and ease
An unborn child is a disease
A holocaust soon fit to please
Our own convenience.

Torn from out their mother's womb
Denied the sky, denied the tomb
Conceived in lust to their own ruin
A sacrifice to pleasure.

A Curse, a curse their blood cries out
A curse, a curse the heavens shout!
A curse on him who dares to flout
God's image in mankind.

The doctors with their blood-red hands
Who loved their money more than man.
With greed their god they lay their plan
The butchers of mankind.

Oh, rid us of this evil Lord
And turn our hearts by cross or sword
Our nation cannot long afford
To live beneath your anger.

A Curse, a curse upon their heads
O, save them Lord, or slay them dead!
And fill our country with your dread
And turn away your anger.

The 70 Weeks Prophecy, by Rev. John Sawtelle

The text for this Daniel 9:20-27 (Audio):

"And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God: Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the Man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

"And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications, the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even unto the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

Check out the following from Patrick Buchanan's book The Great Betrayal: How American Sovereignty and Social Justice Are Being Sacrificed to the Gods of the Global Economy:

"No site better captures yesterday's America than Detroit, forge and furnace of America's democracy. Detroit is the burned out case of American cities. The Empire of the Sun has its revenge. Japanese imports helped kill the city that built the weapons that destroyed the empire. Now grandsons of the soldiers of the imperial army work at high paying manufacturing jobs once held by the fathers of ten-dollar-an-hour retail clerks in Macomb County.

"But why blame the Japanese? We did it to ourselves. We Americans created a post-war trading regime, in which, over 25 years, Japan bought 400,000 American cars while selling us 40 million Japanese cars, a ratio of 100:1. One president after another sat still while a third of America's greatest industry was shipped off to Japan...

"Americans no longer make their own cameras, shoes, radios, TVs, toys. A fifth of our steal, a third of our autos, half our machine tools, and two-thirds of our textiles are made abroad...

"The decline and fall of Middle America were neither preordained nor inevitable. It was engineered in Washington D.C. Wages have fallen and the standard of living of American families has stagnated because of a basic law: the law of supply and demand. The price of labour has been dropping because the supply of labour has exploded...

"Having declared free trade and open borders to be American policy, why are we surprised that corporate executives padlocked their plants in the Rust Belt and moved overseas?  Why keep your plants here when you can manufacture at a fraction of the cost abroad, ship your goods back, and pocket the windfall profits that come from firing $20 an hour Americans and hiring fifty-cent-an-hour  Asians? A pair of Nikes that sells for $150 in the United States costs $5 in wages to make in Indonesia. Any wonder that Nike president Philip Knight is the fifth richest man in America, with $5.2 billion, while his Indonesian workers make 31 cents an hour?"

Quote for Saturday, October 27, 2018

The following advice to pastors comes from a sermon by Dr. David P. Murray (Flee, Fight, Follow). Dr. Murray says that he first heard this from Pastor John MacArthur.

How a Man Becomes A Man of God

"Fling him into his office. Then tear the office sign from his door, and replace it with a sign that says, 'Study.' Take him off the mailing list. Lock him up with his books, and his typewriter, and his Bible.
Slam him down on his knees before texts and broken hearts and the lives of a superficial flock and a Holy God. Force him to be the one man in the community who knows about God. Throw him into the ring to box with God until he learns how short his arms are. Engage him to wrestle with God all the night through, and let him come out only when he's bruised and beaten into being a blessing. Shut his mouth from forever spouting remarks and stop his tongue from forever tripping lightly over every nonessential. Require him to have something to say before he breaks his silence. Burn his eyes with weary study. Wreck his emotional poise with worry for the things of God. Make him exchange his pious stance for a humble walk with God and man. Make him spend and be spent for the glory of God. Rip out his telephone. Burn up his success sheets. Put water in his gas tank. Give him a Bible and tie him to the pulpit. Test him. Quiz him. Examine him. Humiliate him for his ignorance of things divine. Shame him for his good comprehension of finance, batting averages, and political party issues. Laugh at his frustrated effort to play psychiatrist. Form a choir, raise a chant, and haunt him night and day with 'Sir, we would know God!' When at long last he does assay the pulpit, ask him if he has a word from God.  If he doesn't, dismiss him. Tell him you can read the paper yourself. You can digest the television commentary. You can think through the day's superficial problems, and manage the weary drives of the community and bless the assorted baked potatoes and green beans better than he can. When he does speak God's Word, listen. And when he's burned out finally by the flaming Word, consumed by the fiery grace blazing through him, and when he's privileged to translate the truth of God to man and finally has himself transferred from earth to heaven, wave him away gently. Blow a muted trumpet. Lay him down softly. Place a two-edged sword in his coffin. And raise the tune triumphant. For before he died, he had become a man of God!"

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace (In English and Swedish)

The Devil's Vision

The Devil's Vision

"The Devil once said to his demons below, 'Our work is progressing entirely too slow,
The Holiness people stand in our way since they do not believe in the show or the play.
They teach that the carnival, circus and dance, the tavern and honky-tonk with the game of chance
Drinking and smoking, these things are all wrong, the Christians don't mess with the ungodly throng. They are quick to condemn everything that we do, to cause unbelievers to be not a few.
They claim that these things are all of the devel, that Christian folks live on a much higher level.
Now fellows, their theology, while perfectly true, is blocking the work we are trying to do.
We will have to get busy and think of a plan, that will change their standard as fast as we can.
Now I have a vision of just what we can do, Harken, I'll tell this deception to you.
Then find ye a wise but degenerate man, whom I can use to help work out this plan.
There's nothing so real as the things you can see; the eyes and the mind and the heart will agree.
So what can be better than an object to view? I say it will work, and deceive not a few!
The home is the place for this sinful device. The people deceived will think it quite nice.
The world will possess it, most Christians can't tell, that it is all of the Devil and plotted in hell!
We'll sell them with pictures of the latest news, and when they're not looking we'll advertise booze.
At first, it will shock them, they'll seam in a daze, but soon they'll be hardened and continue to gaze.
We'll give them some gospel, that isn't too strong, and a few sacred songs to string them along.
They'll take in the ads with the latest of fashions, Soon watching the shows that will stir evil passions.
Murder and love-making scenes they'll behold until their souls will be utterly cold.
The old family altar, which once held such charm, will soon lose its place without much alarm.
Praying in secret will also be lost, as they look at the screen, not counting the cost.
Compromise preachers, who don't take their stand, will embrace this new vision and think it is grand.
They'll help fool the people and cause them to sin, by seeking this evil and taking it in.
Influence is great, and this you can see, just look at my fall and you'll have to agree.
It won't take too long, my demons to tell, that the vision of Satan will populate hell!
Divorce will increase, sex crimes will abound, much innocent blood will be spilled on the ground.
The home will be damned in short order I say when this vision of mine comes in to stay.
Get busy, my cohorts, and put this thing out, we'll see if the church can continue to shout!
The holiness people who stand in our way will soon hush their crying against show and play.
We'll cover the earth with this Devil vision, and we'll camouflage it with the name television!
The people will think they are getting a treat until the antichrist comes and takes over his seat.
He'll rule the world while the viewers behold, the face of the beast to whom they'be been sold.
We'll win through deception, this cannot fail, thou some holiness preachers continue to wail."
