I think it is appropriate to post an excerpt from David Rockefeller's Memoirs, seeing that Barack Obama may be writing something very similar when he publishes his memoirs
“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time
Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our
meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40
years......It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for
the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during
those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march
towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an
intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the
national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.”
Let me just tweak this quote a bit for clarity's sake (the parts in bold italics are my 'tweaks'):
“The Council on Foreign Relations is grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time
Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended The Council on Foreign Relation's
meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40
years......It would have been impossible for The Council on Foreign Relations to develop The Council on Foreign Relation's plan for
the world if The Council on Foreign Relations had been subjected to the lights of publicity during
those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march
towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an
intellectual elite and world bankers (aka The Council on Foreign Relations) is surely preferable to the
national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.”
