Packed Churches - .357, .45 & and Glock

Gary North: Packed Churches - .357, .45 & and Glock - lewrockwell.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Somebody outside the church had a rifle... The murderer was transferred to the Supreme Court. I am certain that he has been tried, convicted, and sentenced. There will be no appeal. There will be no parole. Nevertheless. . . .If every man in that church had been packing, fewer people would have died. If every woman in that church had been packing, even fewer would have die"

Dr. Peter Hammond recently made the following comment:

"You may not like God or Guns, but if someone is breaking into your house, the first thing you're going to do is call someone who has a gun. And the second thing you're going to do is pray that they get there on time!"

I'm not sold on the idea of people bringing their guns to church. Was David Wilkerson "packing" when he went to New York City to work with the gang in the 1950s? I don't think so. He hunted down those gangs with nothing but the Holy Spirit to protect him (See The Cross and the Switchblade, watch also in Spanish).

The massacre of our brothers and sisters in Christ down in Texas should drive us - not down to the local gun shop - but to our knees. We need rival, not guns! Martin Luther's great hymn puts it this way:

"Let goods and kindred go,
This mortal life also
The body they may kill.
God's truth abideth still.
His kingdom is forever!"
(A Mighty Fortress is Our God)
