The workers are demanding an increase in their minimum wage to 15$ an hour, an increase of more than 100%., To offset the wage increases, companies would be required to dramatically increase food prices, an impossibility in the low cost, low margin fast food industry. Robotics and other technologies make a second option possible, namely, finding ways to do the same work with fewer employees."
