Excerpt from this article:
"Standing on the American bank of the Rio Grande in Hidalgo County, Texas, 31-year-old Velma Santos told U.S. Border Patrol officers she did not know what to expect when she first set foot on American soil – only that now her two daughters would be able to go to an American school."

Here are a couple of quotes from the late Rev. Lewis B. Smedes (Mere Morality: What God Expects From Ordinary People):
"Maybe the prophets wanted the rich to invite the poor into their homes, maybe they wanted the poor to be befriended and supported by gentle arms of friends. Maybe friendliness. But at least justice, at least the rights of the poor respected."
"A
baby born, through no choice of her own, into a poverty stricken family
has a right to nourishing food, a warm bed, and loving care. But as she
grows, she also has a need to flourish as a human being. She needs
education and books, music, access to dentists and doctors, and a chance
to develop her gifts for creative work."

I
am opposed to granting amnesty to those who are in America illegally.
But I'm not opposed to giving people - from any country - an opportunity
to "legally" come to America and even work toward becoming an American
citizen.----------
The politicians who are trying to push amnesty and immigration reform through Congress aren't doing it because they have any love for Hispanics. They are doing it because they are corrupt and they know that amnesty will help them stay in power (See my post: The Global Power Elite: Did You Get an Invitation?).
But when I think of the children flooding into this country just to have the possibility of having a better future, well, it breaks my heart. Rather than send them back, let's send the worthless politicians in Washington D.C to Mexico instead!
