Jesus Wept,. by Dr. David P. Murray
The text for this sermon in John 11:35 (Audio)
"Jesus Wept."
Here are a couple of short anecdotes Dr. Murray shares in this sermon:
"William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, had workers come to him one day and tell him about, they were so discouraged, so cast down. Seeing no fruit. Do you know what his reply was: 'Try tears!'"
"Charles Pierce, terrible criminal and a murderer, was being led to be punished capitally for his crimes. There was a Chaplain trying to minister to him and tell him about the power of Christ to save, even then. Charles Peirce turned to the Chaplain and said, 'Do you believe that? Do you really believe that? If I believed that I would crawl over broken glass to tell men it was true!"
