Our Lord Jesus says in Luke 21:28: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth neigh." Jesus had been talking about the signs that would take place shortly before his return.
One of the signs that he didn't talk about, but that was mentioned several hundred years earlier by the prophet Daniel, is found in Daniel 12:4:
"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."
