Scientists Discover Brain's 'Misery Molecule' Which Affects Stress, Anxiety and Depression

Scientists discover brain's 'misery molecule' which affects stress, anxiety and depression | Mail Online:

"Scientists have found the brain's 'misery molecule' believed to be responsible for all of our feelings of stress and anxiety. Researchers believe that the protein - named CRF1 - could also be linked to depression."

There are worse things in life than being anxious and depressed. I have no doubt that scientists can discover more effective ways to make us feel better - and for many, these are appropriate and even life saving advances in medicine that even Christians should support.

But there is a danger in trying to cover up depression and anxiety that is brought about by our own sins. The Bible says: "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of. But the sorrow of the world worketh death."    - 2 Corinthians 7:10
