The Daily Spurgeon for Monday, September 29, 2014

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"Let me further say that inasmuch as that salvation of God is a great one, it must have been intended to meet great sins. O Sirs, would Christ have shed the blood of His heart for some trifling, venial sins which your tears could wash away? Do you think God would have given His dear Son to die as a mere superfluity? If sin had been a small matter, a little sacrifice would have sufficed. Do you think that the Divine Atonement was made only for small offenses? Did Jesus die for little sins and leave the great ones unatoned for? No, the Lord God measured the greatness of our sin and found it die for little sins and leave the great ones unatoned for? No, the Lord God measured the greatness of our sin and found it fully described, the Lord Jesus poured out His soul in unknown sufferings that He might provide a great salvation for the greatest of sinners. See Jesus on the Cross and learn that all manner of sin and of blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men! " - Excerpt from Pastor Spurgeon's sermon: A Sermon for the Worst Man on Earth.

Mark Levin o 2016: GOP Must Nominate First Conservative Since Ronald Reagan

Mark Levin o 2016: GOP Must Nominate First Conservative Since Ronald Reagan - breitbart.com

Excerpt from this article:

"It's very, very, important that we nominate a conservative for the first time since Ronald Reagan," Levin said. "There are people under 50-years-old who have never had an opportunity to vote for a conservative president. We want to show them what it's like. It's our generation's responsibility."
--------------------------------------------------------------
Mark Levin once said:

"You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine.  What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances - there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yes, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren. What they are doing is with malice and with forethought." (emphasis mine) (source)

What Is The Gospel?

The Apostle Paul summarized the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:3,4:

"For I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures."

That is the Gospel in a nutshell. Of course, there is a sense that the Gospel includes everything in the Bible, from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. The whole Bible is about our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Gospel centers upon him. One of the 17th century Puritans put it this way:

"To accept Christ's righteousness, his blood alone for salvation, is the sum of the gospel." Thomas Wilcox (1621 - 1687)

UN Global Warming Propaganda Campaign: Return To Perceive Success Indicates Desperation - lewrockwell.com

Excerpt from this article:

"The Montreal Protocol is a template, but not for pushing the need for a Climate Protocol. It is a template for how ozone destruction by human produced Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) was a test run for the deception that human CO2 is causing global warming. It’s a template, not because it worked, but because it was completely unnecessary, cost a lot of money and created a multitude of other problems. It is a template because humans were blamed for atmospheric ozone destruction without evidence, while natural processes were ignored."

The Mad Mad Mad World of Climatism: Mankind and the Climate Change Mania, by Steve Goreham

Here is a short excerpt from this great book by Steve Goreham:

“Welcome to the mad mad mad world of Climatism. It's a world of veggie meals and insect snacks, tiny cars, fluorescent bulbs, and carbon credits. It's a world where your children are measured by the size of their carbon footprint, rather than the content of their character. It's a world directed by global bureaucrats who are not accountable to any voter. It's a world of government subsidized and expensive wind, solar, and biofuel energy. The proponents of Climatism assert that all this, and more, is necessary if we are to save the planet.” page 45

In Memory of Dr. Ian R. K. Paisley

Earth's loss is heaven's gain, as one of the giants of the faith went to to be with his Lord. See Ian Paisley, the Dr. Noof Ulter Politics, Dies Age 88 - the Guardian.com. I  think the following quote from Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) is appropriate:

"We admire a man who was firm in the faith, say four hundred years ago...but such a man today is a nuisance, and must be put down.  Call him a narrow-minded bigot, or give him a worse name if you can think of one.  Yet imagine that in those ages past, Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and their compeers had said, "The world is out of order; but if we try to set it right we shall only make a great row, and get ourselves into disgrace.  Let us go to our chambers, put on our night-caps, and sleep over the bad times, and perhaps when we wake up things will have grown better."  Such conduct on their part would have entailed upon us a heritage of error.  Age after age would have gone down into the infernal deeps, and the pestiferous gobs of error would have swallowed all.  These men loved the faith and the name of Jesus too well to see them trampled on...
It is today as it was in the Reformer's days.  Decision is needed.  Here is the day for the man, where is the man for the day?  We who have had the gospel passed to us by martyr hands dare not trifle with it, nor sit by and hear it denied by traitor, who pretend to love it, but inwardly abhor every line of it...Look you, sirs, there are ages yet to come.  If the Lord does not speedily appear, there will come another generation, and another, and all these generations will be tainted and injured if we are not faithful to God and to His truth today.  We have come to a turning-point in the road.  If we turn to the right, mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way; but if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to His Word." (Source)

Read the Whold Bible in 2014! Monday, September 8, 2014

I'm going to try to read through the whole Bible this year. Why don't you join me? There are many different websites that offer reading plans to read the Bible in a year. The one I chose is Read the KJV Bible in One Year. So for today, let's read chapters 24-26 in he book of  Job.

Note: If you have a reading disability that makes it difficult or impossible to read along with me this year, please consider going to Biblegateway.com and listening to the Bible. This is a great site with many resources, one of which is an audio version of the Bible.

Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, by Jonathan Edwards

Franklin Graham: "I Can't Help But Wonder If We Are In The Last Hours Before Our Lord Jesus Returns"

Franklin Graham: "I Can't Help But Wonder If We Are In The Last Hours Before Our Lord Jesus Returns"- breakingchristiannews.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Jesus warned His disciples in Matthew 24 when they asked Him about the signs of the end of the age. He said there would be wars and rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilence. He told them, "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake" (Matthew 24:9, KJV). As I read the news, I can't help but wonder if we are in the last hours before our Lord Jesus Christ returns to rescue His Church and God pours out His wrath on the world for the rejection of His Son. I don't know if we have hours, days, months, or years—but as Christians, God calls us to take the truth of the Gospel to the ends of the earth."

The Daily Spurgeon for Saturday, September 6, 2014

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)

"To you am I sent also. Before you am I to lift up the blood-stained banner of the cross, to you am I to preach this gospel, 'Whoso calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved;' and unto you am I to cry, 'Whosoever will, let him come and take of the water of life freely.'" - from Spurgeon's sermon Compel Them to Come In
