"Jesus warned His disciples in Matthew 24 when they asked Him about the signs of the end of the age. He said there would be wars and rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilence. He told them, "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake" (Matthew 24:9, KJV). As I read the news, I can't help but wonder if we are in the last hours before our Lord Jesus Christ returns to rescue His Church and God pours out His wrath on the world for the rejection of His Son. I don't know if we have hours, days, months, or years—but as Christians, God calls us to take the truth of the Gospel to the ends of the earth."

I'm not a fan of Billy Graham and his son Franklin Graham (See my posts: Billy Graham, Pope Francis, and the Doctrine of Total Depravity; Puff Graham Murray!).

And I'm not a date setter. Our Lord Jesus could come in the next 5 minutes. Or he could come in a thousand years. But having said that, I think Billy Graham is probably right in sounding the alarm for the 2nd coming.  As I get older, I find myself looking through the obituaries more frequently. It's morbid, I know, but it just reminds me of how short life is.

Every time a person dies, they go to meet Jesus. If they are saved, they will meet him as their Savior and their friend. If they are lost, they will meet him as their judge. The Bible says:

"It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgement." - Hebrews 9:27

Billy Graham, Pope Francis, and The Doctrine of Total Depravity

Yesterday Pope Francis said that Atheist can be good (see Pope Francis Says Atheists Can Go To Heaven: Sweet Jesus! The College of Cardinals Done Elected a Hippie!) On May 18th, I did a short post titled: "Puff Graham Murray". My goal in that post was to set the gospel and teaching of Billy Graham along side that of Dr. David P. Murray, specifically in Dr. Murray's sermon: When Government Tries to Be God.

As Dr. R. C. Sproul says in Faith Alone: The Evangelical Doctrine of Justification, there is only one true gospel. It is my belief that the gospel preached by Dr. Murray is the same gospel that was preached by our Lord Jesus and his Apostles 2000 years ago.   To give you a little insight in where people like Billy (and Franklin) Graham and Pope Francis get their gospels from, please take the time to listen to this very informative message by Rev. "Puff Graham Murray!"

The year was 1949. Evangelist Billy Graham - preaching against communism - said: "Either communism must go or Christianity must go!" Newspaper mogul William Randolph Heart heard this, was impressed, and sent a memo to his paper: "Puff Graham."  The rest is history.

Never mind his claim that his beliefs are almost the same as those of the Orthodox Roman Catholics, here is a fascinating excerpt from an interview with Televangelist Robert Schuller in 1997 (source):

Robert Schuller: "Tell me, what do you think of the future of Christianity?"
Billy Graham: "I  think everybody who knows Christ, whether they're conscious of it or not, they're members of the body of Christ...God's purpose is to call out a people for His name, whether they come from the Muslim world, Buddhist world, the Christian world, or the non-believing world, they are members of the Body of Christ, because they've been called by God. They may not even know the name of Jesus...and I think they are saved, and that they are going to be in heaven with us."
Robert Schuller (overjoyed): "What I hear you saying is that it's possible for Jesus Christ to come into human hearts and soul and life even if they've been born into darkness and never had exposure to the Bible. Is that a correct interpretation of what you are saying?"
Billy Graham: "Yes it is, because I believe that. I've met people in various parts of the world...that have never seen a Bible or heard about a Bible, and never heard of Jesus, but they've believed in their hearts that there was a God."

Billy Graham (and Robert Schuller) have one view of the Gospel. Dr. David P. Murray has another -"Without Christ, You're damned!"  Please take some time to listen to this life changing sermon by Dr. Murray:

Is it Time to Label the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) A Cult?

Many years ago I read an article by Dr. Lester Dekoster, one of the former editors of The Banner, in which he made the statement: "Billy Graham is going to have to give an account to God for all of the keys to the kingdom he has handed out over the years."

What Dr. Dekoster meant was that Billy Graham has led millions and millions of people into believing they were 'born again,' and thus on their way to heaven, when in fact, many of his converts will eventually wind up in hell.  The Bible says:

"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand..."When I say to the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand." (Ezekiel 33:6,8)

Dr. Dekoster's words caused a 'crack' in my belief in Billy Graham and his ministry. That 'crack' widened years later when I learned that Billy Graham was quoted as saying:

"I've found that my beliefs are essentially the same as those of orthodox Roman Catholics." (Billy Graham and Rome).

But that crack burst wide open today when I listened to Pastor Sean E. Harris' podcast Franklin Graham: Mormonism Will Never Be Labeled a 'Cult' Again.

This podcast is in response to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's decision to remove 'Mormonism' from their list of cults on their website.

Because My Gospel Project is dedicated to spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth, I have been compeled to list Mormonism as a cult on this site. And I won't be taking it off. But now, I have added the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to my list of cults as well (see My Gospel Project/Cults/Billy Graham Evangelistic Association)
