I used to work in a public hospital, and one of the things I looked forward to was when the drug manufacturers would come and put on a presentation of thier latest drugs. The talks were always interesting, but I admit that I came mostly for the food! They drug reps always brought lots of good food and drinks with them.
But I recall one of the doctors on staff - a brilliant young doctor with 2 Ph.Ds, said that he never went to those presentations. He said he did not want his medical decisions to be influenced by sales persons from drug manufacturers.

Unlike other 'conspiracy theorists' (see my post: A Sixty Second Seminar on Conspiracy Theory), I am a big beliver in (most!) vaccines. I would hate to see where the world would be today if Jonas Salk had not invented the vaccine for polio, or Edward Jenner had not invented the vaccine for small pox.
During my 9 years of working as a Certified Nursing Assistant I have helped take care of a lot of sick people. I think that doctors, nurses, CNAs and Medical Assistants (as well as those who do medical research, medical technicians, secretary's and other medical support people) are some of God great gifts to fallen mankind.
But I also know there is a tremendous amount of money that changes hands in our healthcare system, and not all of that is in the best interest of the patient. Obamacare is just one example of that. One of the doctors I used to work with would refuse to attend the "free workshops" offered at the hospital by drug companies. He was a very educated man (in addition to having an MD after his name, he also had a Ph.D. in genetics). He would no doubt agree with the article above, especially further down where it says: "America: A Cesspool of pharmaceutical and vaccine corruption."
