A Guided Tour Through My Gospel Project!

So you want to start Your Own "Gospel Project?" Good for you. In the weeks to come I am going to be going over every aspect of My Gospel Project, and hopefully, you will be able to find it useful in starting your own Gospel Project.

For today, I'm going to take you on a fast tour of My Gospel Project, and then I will get down to business of showing you exactly how I did it, and how you can do it too.

First of all, My Gospel Project revolves around a wonderful website called SermonAudio.com. As of today, Thursday, April 5, 2018, SermonAudio.com has 1,431,996 conservative (aka Bible believing!) sermons.  And many more are added every day! If all I accomplish with My Gospel Project is to introduce people to this website, I've done my job!

If you take a look to the right hand side of My Gospel Project, you will see a section titled "Daily Features." These are daily features that I try to update, well, daily! I take Sunday off, so my readers can usually click on these links Monday through Friday and find new "Stuff." The one exception is the first link, Sermon of the Week, which I update on a weekly basis.

So just briefly, I want to list these features and tell you a little bit about them.

Sermon of the Week

Pretty self explanatory. I choose one sermon every week and put a link to it in this area.

Example: Sermon of the Week April 2-8

Today in History

This is my most recent addition to My Gospel Project. There are several websites that list important (or in some cases, interesting) events that happen every day of the year. I choose a couple of these dates, and then I search SermonAudio to see if there is a sermon or podcast relevent to that particular event.

Example: Today in History - April 5th

Thoughts for Today

Similar to Today in History, only in this case I usually use quotations, either from my personal reading or from the Internet. Sometimes I will just take a paragraph or two from a sermon I've been listening to, and then post a link to that sermon so my readers can listen to it.

Example: Thoughts for Thursday, April 6, 2018

Bible Verse(s) for Today

Again, similar to the 2 above features, only this time I'm picking out one or more verses out of the Bible and searching SermonAudio.com for sermons on those verses.

Example: Bible Verse for Thursday, April 5, 2018

Hymns for Today

Pretty self explanator. I post links to gospel hymns, usually from You Tube.

Example: Recommended Hymns for Thursday, April 5, 2018

Bible Reading for Today

This section is by far the largest, and in my opinion, the most important. Like many followers of our Lord Jesus I try to read the Bible through at least once a year, There are many good sites to help you do that - the one I use on My Gospel Project is https://www.christianity.com/bible/year/kjv/o.htm

In addition to reading the Bible Through (or sometimes listening to it using an audio Bible, I like to read (or listen!) to the Psalms and Proverbs one day a month.

So I list the recommended daily Bibe readings, and then I search SermonAudio.com for relevant sermons on those chapters.

Example: Bible Reading for Thursday, April 5, 2018

Today in the News

This is sort of my own little Internet Newspaper. It has 3 sections: News articles and commentaries from around the web. News oriented videos. And finally, news oriented podcasts from SermonAudio.com

Example: Today in the News - Thursday, April 5, 2018

In addition to the above daily features, I do occational "stand alone" post, which I will go into in a couple of weeks.

One final word. You may have noticed that I have pictures of books on many of my posts, and I have an Amazon icon in the upper right hand corner. I don't accept any donations, and with one acception, I choose not to run any ads on My Gospel Project. That one exception is I am part of an affiliate program with Amazon.

Many companies have such programs - Best Buy and Wal Mart to name just a couple. If one of my readers clicks on the Amazon icon (or one of the recommended books) it will take then to Amazon.com. And if they purchase something I get a small commisson. And I will show you how to do that as well.
