America's Female Prison Population Has Grown 800% and Nobody is talking About it!

America's Female Prison Population Has Grown 800% and Nobody is talking About it! - zeohedge.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Despite this staggering growth, violent criminals are not being sent to prison in droves. Instead, nearly two-thirds of female prisoners are incarcerated for nonviolent offenses....380 out of every 100,000 black women in America are in jail, while 147 out of every 100,000 Hispanic women and 93 out of every 100,000 white women are incarcerated. While whites account for 79.8 percent of the U.S. population and 63.8 percent of women in America are white, only 45.5 percent of the female prison population is white. 'By contrast,' the FAMM report explains, 'black women represent 32.6 percent of female prisoners, but only 12.8% of the general population,' making black children 'nearly 7.5 times more likely than white children to have a parent in prison.'”

This is a tragedy! But it is a tragedy that could be remedied very easily - take the profit out of the criminal justice system. Make it so every person accused of a crime gets the same defense - regardless of how rich they are or how many powerful friends they have.

I would guess that if all of the inmates in America's jails and prisons had access to the same type of justice that Hillary Clinton (so far!) has had access to, we would be closing down prisons right and left! In fact, WHEN Donald Trump takes office next January, I would encourage him to appoint a serous committee to make sure that people like the Clintons, the Bushes and the Obama's don't get a different quality of justice than poorest people in America.

Here are some interesting quotes to read in regards to our criminal justice system:

"You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine.  What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances - there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yes, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren. What they are doing is with malice and with forethought." (emphasis mine) (source)
'
"Whenever you run a clandestine operation, you run two things at the same time: you prepare the team for the hit, and you keep it so small there's nobody to spread it all around. And across the hall is a big staff working on what we call special plans. They're preparing the cover story. The cover story is what they want people to believe and to talk about, and to argue about." - From a 1992 speech by Col. Fletcher Prouty, former chief of special operations, Joint Chief of Staff (as quoted in Deep Truth: The Lives of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein)

"Though [Bill Clinton] once had sweet nothings to whisper in her ear, after Gennifer Flowers told the world of her affair with Bill Clinton, he reportedly denounced her to his troopers in terms unbecoming of the president who claims credit for the Violence Against Women Act. He called her a 'F----g slut,' and demanded to know 'What does that whore think she's doing to me?'" - High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton, by Ann Coulter

"I'm against the media so taunting us with the crimes committed by our neighbors, that we virtually hurl ourselves into the arms of the police demanding protection they only too willingly give - provided we adopt their view of our Bill of Rights as a pesky collection of loopholes through which criminals are permitted to escape." With Justice for None - Destroying an American Myth, by Gerry Spence (Attorney)

'Ironically, the same court that decreed that Dred Scott, a slave, was property, had granted to the corporation, a non-man, the sacred rights of citizenship...The Fourteenth Amendment provided that no state shall 'deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law, nor deny any persons within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.' It was to be a shield of freedom to protect the emancipated slave against abuses from the states. But the Fourteenth Amendment soon became a formidable weapon used to subject both black and white to the will of corporate America. We have not often heard that story." With Justice for None - Destroying an American Myth, by Gerry Spence (Attorney)

"Having passed historic legislation to make American factories the fairest, cleanest, safest and finest place on earth for industrial workers, liberals then turn around and backed free trade agreements that say to U.S. manufacturers: 'If you want to get out from under all these liberal laws, if you want to be rid of those demanding U.S. workers and unions, shut down your plant here, lay off your U.S. workers, move to China, make your goods there, and export them, free of charge, back to the USA. Pocket all the money you save and put it into executive bonuses and laugh at us liberals on the slopes of Teluride and Vail.'" Day of Reckoning - How Hubris, Ideology and Greed Are Tearing America Apart, by Patrick Buchanan

"James Madison, author of our Bill of Rights, boasted shortly after the American Revolution that he could make $257 annually on each slave he owned, and was required to spend only $12 or $13 yearly on the slave's upkeep." - With Justice for None - Destroying an American Myth, by Gerry Spence (Attorney)

"Indeed, the black man was not the only slave in America. Voracious in their quest for cheap labor, the colonists conceived of the indentured servant scheme, whereby the poor, imprisoned in England for petty crimes or debt, entered into indenture agreements for their passage to the new world and freedom...the poor had not fared well in England. In 1572 Elizabeth decreed: 'Unlicensed beggars above 14 years of age are to be severely flogged and branded on the left ear unless someone will take them into service for 2 years; in case of repetition of offense, if they are over 18, they are to be executed without mercy as felons." With Justice for None - Destroying an American Myth, by Gerry Spence (Attorney)

"You have to hire the best investigators, criminologist, forensic people right now, Shapiro said. You must bring them in immediately to get an independent review of the evidence. The longer you wait, the more the evidence will be disturbed. Shapiro added that he always treated experts well. First class travel, top hotels, the best restaurants. Some lawyers try to economize with tourist class and cheap hotels. That doesn't buy loyalty." (From An American Tragedy, page 29)

"According to information provided by the State of Washington, more than 90% of felony defendants were indigent at the time of there arrest." -  Justice Matters (fall issue, 2004)
