There are many different websites that offer reading plans to read the Bible in a year. Here is a really good one: Read the KJV Bible in One Year. For today, why don't you read along with me Chapters 120-132
in the book of Psalms. (Note: The Psalms are not actually divided into
'chapters'. The Psalms were the hymnbook of the Jewish people 3000 years
ago. But they still speak to us today!)
Special Verses:
"Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth." - Psalm 124:8
"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever." - Psalm 125:2
"(A
Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they
labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the
watchman waketh but in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep." - Psalm 127:1,2
Here are some hymns based on these Psalms:
All Who With Heart Confiding (Based on Psalm 125)
Gracious Lord, Remember David (Based on Psalm 132)
"If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" - Psalm 130:3
Note: If you
have a reading disability that makes it difficult or impossible to read
along with me this year, please consider going to Biblegateway.com and
listening to the Bible. This is a great site with many resources, one
of which is an audio version of the Bible Daily.
