Charlie Daniels Truth Bombs the GOP

Charlie Daniels Truth Bombs the GOP - twitchy.com

 Excerpt from this article:

"Never seen an organization that actually made an art out of gaining control and throwing it away like the Republicans Get it together guys!!"
----------------------------------------------

I know of Charlie Daniels as a conservative columnist but whenever I see his name I am always reminded of his 1970s hit The Devil Went Down to Georgia. The Christian group Apologetix did a really good parody on that song, which they titled  The Devil Went Down to Jordon.

As far as Charlie Daniels tweet, I think he misses the mark. It's not a matter of the GOP "Getting it together."  The late Professor Carroll Quigley summed it up when he wrote:

"The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies ... is a foolish idea. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.  Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party, which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, the same basic policies." Tragedy and Hope - A History of the World in Our Time (Published 1966).

Donald Trump got elected because he was able to convince enough Americans that he was not a part of the establishment. But is is becoming crystal clear that we were fooled.
