Were the Atom Bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima Justified? by Dr. Peter Hammond (Podcast)
----------------------
My father turned 18 in 1945 and joined the army just as the war was coming to an end. My mother strongly believed America was justified in dropping the atom bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. She said Japan would never have surrendered until America killed the last person in Japan. I think she was probably mistaken in this.
But still, a lot of men never came back from World War II and had the war gone on even one more year, my father may have been one of them!
American can't go back and change the decision to drop the bomb(s) on 2 Japanese cities filled with non-combatants. But Japan can't go back and undo some of their crimes either. Check out the following from Chronicle of the 20th Century"
"1993: Japan has admitted that its troops forced tens of thousands of women into sexual slavery from the beginning of its invasion of China in 1932 until the end of World War II in 1945"
