FCC Approves Proposal for 3 Digit Suicide Prevention Hotline Number

FCC Approves Proposal for 3 Digit Suicide Prevention Hotline Number - thedailysheeple.com

Excerpt from this article:

"The three-digit number will make it easier for people to reach out for help. The proposal says calls made to 988 would be directed to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, a national network of 163 crisis centers that is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

Someone once made the remark that "everyone who's serious about suicide is dead." I'm sure the idea behind this moronic statement is that if a person really wants to kill themselves they'll find a way to do it. But anyone who talks about taking their own life should be taken seriously. And  having a 3 digit number that you could keep in your wallet or purse may just save someone's life someday.
