What if President Obama Were Impeached and Sent to Prison?
Senator Ted Cruz recently released 76 Times Obama White House Illegally and Unethically Abused its Power. Imagine a scenario in which the president were convicted of one - just one - of those "illegal and unethical abuses of power," and based on that conviction were removed from office and sent to prison. OK, you got that image firmly in your mind?
Good. Now imagine it is 2016. Our new president is Hillary Rodham Clinton. And her first order of business is to pardon Barack Obama.
That would never happen, right? In 1974 Richard Nixon resigned as President of the United Nation for his role in the Watergate Scandal. Although several others who acted on Nixon's behalf did prison time (for example, Chuck Colson of Prison Fellowship), Nixon himself was pardoned by his Vice President and successor to the Oval Office Gerald Ford.
