Bioethics: Fertility Problems, by Bob Snyder (Spring Branch Academy)

The text for this sermon are:

"If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and ye no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as he woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."

"Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee."

Here are some fascinating lectures on ethical issues by Allen Cagle:

In one of these lectures - I think it the one dealing with End of Life - Allen Cagle quotes Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., as asking the disturbing question: "When does right to die turn into the responsibility to die?"

Daily Quote for Monday, October 5, 2020

"[Jesus] said, 'All that the Father giveth me shall come to me.' (John 6;37). Almighty grace shall sweetly constrain them to come.  My Father recently gave me some letters that I wrote to him when I began to preach. They are almost boyish epistles; but, in reading through them again, I noticed in one of them this expression: 'How I long to see thousands of men saved; but my great comfort is that some will be saved, must be saved, shall be saved, for it is written, 'All that the Father giveth me shall come to me.'"- Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

Christ About His Father's Business - Charles Spurgeon Sermon

Quote by Pastor Spurgeon:

"Better to have been a devil than a preacher playing fast and loose with God's Word, and by such means working out the ruin of the souls of men...It will be the height of my ambition to be clear of the blood of all men. If, like George Fox, I can say in dying, 'I'm am clear. I'm am clear' that were almost all the heaven I could wish for." from Iain Murray's The Forgotten Spurgeon

Israel Now News - Episode 401- Sam Grundwerg

Note: I really enjoy watching Israel Now News. I'm not Jewish - by birth or religious persuasion. And I'm not a dispensationalist, so I don't share that particular viewpoint with regards to the current state of Israel. But I respect the people that are often featured on this news program because they believe the Old Testament.

In today's broadcast someone makes the comment that we see "Biblical Prophecy being fulfilled" right before our eyes, No truer words could be spoken. America's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital - which I support - may or may not be a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. But two prophecies that I see either being fulfilled now or in the near future are are these:

The great falling away or apostasy 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4a:

"Let no man deceive you by any means, but that day shall not come unless there come  exceot there come a falling away first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, who opposeth and exalteth himself above God."- 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4a (Audio)

For more on this "Falling Away", check out the following podcast by Pastor Kevin Swanson:

And the national conversion of the Jews, which Paul talks about in Romans 11:25,26a (Audio).

The Bible says:

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved..." - Romans 11:25,26a (Audio)

Recommended sermons:

The 70 Weeks  Prophecy, by Rev. John Sawtelle [Text: Daniel 9:20-27 (Audio)]

There are many who believe we may be very close to the time when this "blindness" is lifted and Jews all over the world will accept our Lord Jesus as their long-awaited Messiah! And when that happens - and it will happen! - the following Jewish hymn may be slightly rewritten so it could be included in our Christian hymnbooks!

Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, by Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758)

"To the question, 'should one preach doctrine?' the Puritan answer would have been, 'Why? What else is there to preach?' Puritan preachers were not afraid to bring the profoundest theology into the pulpit if it bore on their hearers salvation...doctrinal preaching certainly bores the hypocrite; but it is only doctrinal preaching that will save Christ's sheep. The preacher's job is to proclaim the faith, not to provide entertainment for unbelievers. In other words, to feed the sheep and not amuse the goats." - A Quest for Godliness - The Puritan Vision of the Christian Life, by Dr. J.I. Packer

"Modern man would be rich if they fed off the crumbs that fell from the Puritans tables." - Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892)

Excerpt from this article:

"Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell urged Congress and the Trump administration to put aside any concerns about the deficit and spend whatever it takes to stimulate the economy and combat coronavirus. The Federal Reserve previously announced it would make unlimited purchases of Treasury securities, thus encouraging Congress and the president to increase spending and debt. With some members of Congress talking about another multi-trillion dollar stimulus bill, and with President Trump proposing a two trillion dollar infrastructure plan as a  way to get Americans back to work, it is obvious, and not surprising, that Congress and President Trump gleefully agree with Powell's advice."

Here are some quotes on our national debt:

"You know...if I had to borrow 40% of the money I need to pay my bills every month, I'd be fairly alarmed. When you come up a few bucks short at the end of the month for necessary bills, you can cut back: get rid of the cell phone, stop eating out, whatever. But when your monthly nut is routinely running to almost twice what you can pay, you're kind of out of options. It's probably time to re-examine your resistance to sleeping outdoors and pooping outdoors, and...well, doing everything else outdoors, because outdoors is where you're going to be living before long." (Source)

Constitutional scholar Mark Levin says:

"You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine. What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances - there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yes, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren. What they are doing is with malice and with forethought."  (Source)
