The Game Changer: Syria Will Strike Israel Should U.S. Attack:
"Thus, let us assume that the United States, Britain, et. al. initiate a missile strike on targets in Syria in coming days. What will Assad do in response? According to a report by Steve Watson at Prison Planet, he’ll immediately direct his military to strike targets in Israel, just like Saddam Hussein did in the first Gulf War. But this time, the Israelis may not show the restraint they did in 1991. It could be a game changer for the middle east… and the world"
Ever since I read John Stormer's bood, None Dare Call It Treason, about America's involvement in the Vietnam War (war/conflict/police action, whatever!), I've been very skeptical about sending our troops to fight in foreign wars. (See my post: Communists in Congress: Just Count Them) The situation that is going on in Syria is no different.
But what about Israel? Should America go to war to defend Israel? Christians are being persecuted and even killed for their faith all over the world - especially in Muslim countries - so should America send our troops to defend a nation that denies our Lord Jesus Christ, while we sit back and ignore the cries of Christians in other countries who are being killed for their faith?
My best hope for the nation of Israel is that each person of Jewish descent (regardless of where they are currently living!) accept our Lord Jesus Christ not only as the Messiah prophesied repeatedly in the Old Testament - but as their personal Savior and Lord. But then I have the same hope for everyone living in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, America, and every other country around the world.
I still hold out hope for a national conversion to take place in Israel. If that happens - and it still may - then it wouldn't matter if every Arab country - and Russia from the North and China from the East - all gathered together to attack Israel. Because even if they prevailed and slaughtered every man, woman and child in Israel, their souls would be eternally secure with our Lord Jesus in heaven.
Former president Ronald Reagan once said "I turn back to your ancient prophets in the Old Testament and I find myself wondering if we're the generation that's going to see that come about. I don't know if you've noted any of those prophecies lately, but believe me, they certainly describe the times we are going through." (Source)
Things really do look like they are coming together in the Middle East like Hal Lindsey (The Late Great Planet Earth) and Dr. Tim LaHaye (of Left Behind fame) write about. I'm not so sure that is the way things are going to play out (all though I don't rule it out either!).
But I know one thing: what is true for all the rest of humanity, is true for the Jews: Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." (John 14:6) and also: "Neither is their salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby ye must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
