There are many different websites that offer reading plans to read the Bible in a year. Here is a really good one: Read the KJV Bible in One Year. For today, why don't you read along with me chapters 11-13 in the book of Romans:
Special verses:
"O
the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding
out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?" - Romans 11:33-35
"I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God." - Romans 12:1,2
"Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord..." - Romans 12:11
"Bless them which persecute you: bless , and curse not." - Romans 12:14
"Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Dearly beloved,
avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for
it is written , Vengeance is mine; I will repay , saith the Lord." - Romans 12:17-19
"Let every soul be
subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of
God : the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore
resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they
that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are
not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not
be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt
have praise of the same:
For he is the
minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is
evil, be afraid ; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he
is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him
that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject , not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this
cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers,
attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore
to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom
custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." - Romans 13:1-8
"...that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:
for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed." - Romans 13:11
