Do You Have to Believe in the Resurrection to Be A Christian?
'I'll Try to Keep Down My Screams of Agony': Resurrection-Denying 'Pastor' Mocks Being Hellbound - christiannews.net
Excerpt from this article:
"A false teacher and minister in Texas who says that He doesn’t believe in the literal resurrection of Christ recently mocked the gospel...making fun of having an eternal destiny in Hell. 'Apparently, because I don’t believe in a literal resurrection, I’m not really Christian,' Jim Rigby of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church..."
------------------------------------------------------
The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is a fundamental part of the gospel, and only the gospel can save a soul from spending an eternity in hell. This 'Pastor' may joke about hell fire now, but a time will come when his laughter will turn to mourning.
The Bible says:
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..." - 1 Corinthians 15:3,4
"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." - 1 Corinthians 15:17

It's Easter Sunday: He is Risen Indeed!
I'm just on my way to an Easter/Resurrection Day breakfast at church. It's a potluck and I'm bringing a box of Apple Jacks cereal, some milk and some bananas. I thought I'd take just a moment to share one of my favorite Easter/Resurrection Day hymns with you (it's in English and Japaneses!):

First Openly Gay Bishop Delivers Closing Easter Speech, Takes the Lord Name in Vain - dailycaller.com
Excerpt from this Article:
"President Obama tapped the first openly gay Episcopal Bishop to lead the closing Easter Prayer, Monday. According to Talking Points Memo, Obama unexpectedly called on Gene Robinson to lead the closing prayer. Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, tweeted about the honor, ironically taking the Lord’s name in vain in the process. POTUS ‘preaches’ at the Easter prayer breakfast. Then, out of the blue, asks ME to close with prayer. OMG!” he tweeted with a picture."

Low in the Gravy Lay, or He is Risen Indeed!
Thirteen more days until Resurrection Day (otherwise known as Easter!). And while I'm sure that some, like Bill Maher, will use the occasion to mock God (see my post: A Sign on the Back of Noah's Ark Reads: "Smile, God Love You!"), this is a wonderful time for those who love our Lord Jesus to celebrate the fact the Jesus died on the cross for the sins of his people, he was buried, AND he rose again the third day.
Here is a great Resurrecton Day/Easter hymn sung in English and Japanese:

Should Christians Celebrate Easter?
On Sunday, March 31st, Christians from around the world will gather together to celebrate Easter, or as I prefer to call it, Resurrection Day. This is the time of year Christians celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Not all Christians agree that we should be celebrating Easter. Rev. Brian Schwertley is one of them. While I don't agree with every thing he has to say on this subject, the following 3 sermons will definitely give you something to think about:
Not all Christians agree that we should be celebrating Easter. Rev. Brian Schwertley is one of them. While I don't agree with every thing he has to say on this subject, the following 3 sermons will definitely give you something to think about:
Rev. Schwertley tells about going to preach at a church and when they found out he did not believe in celebrating Easter they told him: "You don't believe in celebrating Easter? Then we don't even want to hear you preach! Get out of here!"
If it is true that the word "Easter," has something to do with a pagan goddess, then I agree Christians should not celebrate "Easter." But most Christians I know don't go to church on "Easter Sunday" to worship a pagan goddess, but rather to worship our risen Lord. And so many (myself included) prefer not even to call it Easter, but rather "Resurrection Day!"
1. The day of resurrection!
Earth, tell it out abroad;
The passover of gladness,
the passover of God.
From death to life eternal,
From earth unto the sky,
Our Christ hath brought us over.
With hymns of victory.
2. Our hearts be pure from evil,
that we may see aright
The Lord in rays eternal
of resurrection light;
and listening to his accent,
may hear, so calm and plain,
his own "All hail!" and, hearing,
may raise the victor strain.
3. Now let the heavens be joyful!
Let earth the song begin!
Let the round world keep triumph,
and all that is therein!
Let all things seen and unseen,
their notes in gladness blend,
for Christ the Lord is risen,
our joy that hath no end!
