Bible Reading for Tuesday, January 2, 2018

There are many different websites that offer reading plans to read the Bible in a year. Here is a really good one:  Read the KJV Bible in One Year. (English not your primary language? Try Biblegateway.com for Bibles in your language!) Note: All scripture quotes here are from https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org

For today, read:

Genesis  4 (Audio), 5 (Audio), 6 (Audio); Matthew 2 (Audio).

Sermons on Genesis 4:

The Blood, the Shed Blood, the Precious Blood of Jesus, by Dr. Ian R. K. Paisley (1926-2014 [Text: Genesis 4]
Able's Offering, by Rev. Stephen Hamilton [Text: Genesis 4]

Sermons on Genesis 5:

The Sons of Promise: The Gospel Significance of the First Genealogy, by Voddie Bauchman [Text: Genesis 5]

Sermons on Genesis 6:

The following verses are on Genesis 6:5:

"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Reliability - Does the Bible Stand Up to Scrutiny? by Dr. Ian Brown
Minding Our Thoughts, by Pastor Robert McCurley
TULIP Theology, Part 1, by Rev. Ian Goligher

Note: The above sermons are specifically on Genesis 6:5. The Apostle Paul says that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16) and that includes the preceding 4 verses  in Genesis 6. Personally, I think this is referring to intermarriage of believers and unbelievers, but there are other interpretations. If you want to look into this further, go to Sermonaudio.com, and click on Bible, then Genesis, then chapter 6, and then search for the first 4 verses in this chapter,

Sermons on Matthew 2:

The Coming of the Railways, by Dr. Ian Brown [Text: Matthew 2]
Massacre at Virginia Tech: A Biblical Perspective, by Rev. Stephan Hamilton [Text: Matthew 2] Note: This was preached in 2007 in after the Massacre at Virginia Tech that took the lives of 32 people.
