The Theatres Are Fountains of Vice, by John Newton (1725-1807) [Text: Isaiah 22:`12-14; Romans 12:1,2]

John Newton is best remembered to day for his great hymn, Amazing Grace. I think the Bible text that John Newton used for this hymn was Ephesians 2:8,9:

"For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourself. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."
