Excerpt from this article:

"The Oregon gunman who lined up his victims and asked specifically which ones were Christians before shooting them execution style had a special interest in ''magick' and “spiritualism” and had joined a dating website called 'Spiritual Passion.' On the site, Christopher Harper Mercer, 26, who killed nine people and injured seven at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg before he was shot and killed by police, describes his politics as 'Republican' and his interests as 'killing zombies,' meditation, the occult and punk-rock music"

A Halloween Costume So Scary it Makes Even the Devil and his Demons Shake with Terror!

I hope no Christian has any plans to celebrate Halloween this year. This is the devil's holiday, and Christians have no business being a part of it (see Halloween or Hallowed Be Thy Name?, by Jason Cooley)

The non-Christians dress their kids up in scary costumes and take them door to door to get free trick or treat candy. But have you ever wondered what kind of a costume - if any - would scare the devil himself? How about dressing up as a giant Bible!

The Bible says:

"The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire, where the beast and the false prophet are. And he shall be tormented day and night forever and ever." - Revelation 20:10

and also

"Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well. The devils also beleive, and tremble." - James 2:19

Halloween without the Mask On!

This is what Halloween really looks like:

Halloween, in Retrospect

Halloween is over for another year. Now it is time to gear up for Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years. But before you let this 'Holiday' pass by too quickly, stop and reflect on the meaning of Halloween.

For the businessman or woman, Halloween (as well as all other holidays) are all the same: they are opportunities to try to sell products and services and to make money. Whether they are using a witch or a turkey or Santa or even our Lord Jesus in a manger, holidays are always exploited to make somebody money.

Christians do not celebrate Halloween. Or at least, they shouldn't. Halloween is the Devil's holiday. And those who belong to the Devil can celebrate it with gusto. The Devil and Halloween represent death. Jesus represents life.  Our Lord Jesus says,

"And this is life eternal, that ye may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent." - John 17:3

And also

"The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly." - John 10:10

Halloween not only represents death, and death culture, it represents God's judgment on sin.  Halloween, unlike Christmas, is a temporary holiday that will end when our Lord Jesus returns as King and Judge. Christmas - the real Christmas, not the pagan one most celebrate on December 25th, but the Christmas the Bible talks about in Matthew chapter 1 and Luke chapter 2 - will be celebrated through all eternity.

No one will be celebrating Halloween in hell. The witches and warlocks and demons and the devil that will be seen there will be real - and along with all others who reject our Lord Jesus Christ they will be spending eternity in hell paying for their sins.  The Bible says,

"And the Devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever...And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."  - Revelation 20:10,15

Reformed and Always Reforming - Some Thoughts on Halloween and Reformation Day

Ia a recent post I said the Dr. Billy Graham and Dr. Ian Paisley represented a fork in the road for Christians (see The Black Pope and His Murdermen). But there has always been a fork in the road - not just for those who claim to be followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, but for everyone born into this world. The Bible says:

"And if it seam evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve. Whether the gods which your fathers served, which were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)

And also:

"And Elijah said to them all, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord is God, serve him. If Baal, serve him." (I Kings 18:21).

In the next few days Christians and non-Christians alike will have a chance to 'choose you this day whom ye will serve':

If you want to serve Baal (Satan, the devil, Lucifer or whatever you want to call the Prince of Darkness), then turn on your TV or you Blu-Ray player and watch the latest horror movie. But if you want to serve our Lord Jesus, I'd like to ask you to spend some time brushing up on what Reformation Day is all about. Here are some audio messages and printed material that you may want to listen to and read in the next few days:
