Report: Wendy's to Roll Out Self-Serve Kiosk by End of 2016, as Wage Increases Squeeze Fast Food Companies

Report: Wendy's to Roll Out Self-Serve Kiosk by End of 2016, as Wage Increases Squeeze Fast Food Companies - breitbart.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Wendy’s fast food restaurant chain says it will begin offering self-serve kiosks at its 6,000-plus locations across America, making them available to costumers by the end of 2016. The fast food giant’s decision to move toward automation comes just as 'Fight for $15'–a progressive protest movement, pushing minimum wage hikes–is applying pressure on state governments to raise wages for low-skilled fast food workers."

---------------------------------------

Maybe Wendy's could do some market research before rolling out 6,000 Kiosks.  Here's what I suggest:

1.  In 10 of  their Wendy's restaurants, pay their employees $15 an hour, and raise the price of the food accordingly.

2. In  10 other Wendy's restaurants, go with the Kiosks - and raise the prices accordingly (to cover the one time cost of the Kiosk)

And then see which restaurants make the most profit.

Meet "Smart Restaurant": The Minimum-Wage Crushing, Burger-Flipping Robot - zerohedge.com

Excerpt from this article:

"With a seemingly endless line of talking-heads willing to ignore essentially every study that has been undertaken with regard the effects of raising the minimum-wage...we thought the following burger-flipping robot was a perfect example of unintended consequences for the fast food industry's workers... [a] machine which is capable of making ~360 'customized' gourmet burgers per hour without the aid of a human."

McDonald's to McWorkers: Beware of Fast Food

McDonald's to Workers: Beware of Fast Food - newser.com

Excerpt from this article:

"It's hard to have a healthy diet when you often eat at fast food joints, according to sensible dietary advice posted in an unlikely place: McDonald's own employee resources website. 'Fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight,' warns the website, which labels a picture of a cheeseburger, fries, and soda 'the unhealthy choice' ..."

It's good that McDonald's is warning its employees of the dangers of eating fast food. Perhaps, rather than give them a raise, McDonald's could just give them a copy of the following book this Christmas:

Fast-food strikes set for cities nationwide - Yahoo! Finance:

"Fast-food customers in search of burgers and fries on Thursday might run into striking workers instead.
