----------------------------------------I'm not a cheerleader for Israel. At least not in the sense that Rachel Maddow is a cheerleader for Barack Obama! Although most of my posts about that country tend to be positive, not all of of them are (see my recent post: Israeli Gov't Announces Free Abortions for Women 20 to 33)
And I certainly reject the heretical teachings of John Hagee. Jews stand on equal footing with Muslims and Hindus and Atheists in one regard: They all stand guilty before God and are in need of a Savior. That Savior is our Lord Jesus Christ. Of him the Bible says:
"There is None righteous, no not one." - Romans 3:10
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23
"Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." - Acts 4:12
But Israel has been a strong ally of America, and Oliver North is right when he says Israel's enemies are our enemies. There is a saying - and I think it has some truth to it - "First the Saturday people [the Jews], then the Sunday people [the Christians].
