How to Respond to Doomsday and Conspiracy Theories - Preppers, Alex Jones, Et. Al (Podcast), by Pastor Kevin Swanson
----------------------------------
America's third President, Thomas Jefferson has been quoted as saying 'that if he had to choose between 'a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter''" (Source)
I'm not sure what Mr. Jefferson would think about Alex Jones if he were alive today, but after the left almost stole the election in 2016, I think Jefferson would give Alex a thumbs up!
But Pastor Swanson is absolutely right when he talks about God's sovereignty over human affairs, and that Christians need to keep their eye on the ball - our Lord Jesus Christ and eternity with him!
For a great sermon on the Christian's responsibility toward the state, please check out Dr. David P. Murray's sermon: When Government Tries to Be God, by Dr. David P. Murray
The text for this sermon is Acts 4:19 & 20 (Audio):
"But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."
Here is just a very short excerpt from this great sermon:
"We will be respectful. We will give our reasons. But we will say, 'No!'"
