The Christmas Story: 4000 Languages Without the Complete Bible - christianpost.com
Excerpt from this article:
"During the holiday season, the Bible's account of the birth of Jesus
is at the heart of the Christmas celebration for devout Christians.
Unfortunately, reading the Christmas story is out of reach for many.
That's because there are still some 4,000 languages without a complete
Bible."
-----------------------------
The world can be a pretty scary place, and everywhere we look there is tragedy and heartache. And it seams as though Christians are being persecuted more now than any time in recent history. But at times like this it is good to remember that God is still in charge. Our Lord Jesus is still on his throne. And the Bible is still without error and everything it has to say will surely come to past!
And one of those things the Bible - our Lord Jesus - says is: "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached as a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come." Matthew 24:14. But as the Bible also says, "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).
As we get ready to wrap up another year, please consider donating to the work of bringing the Bible to those people who have never heard. And one great organization that I would recommend is:
Wycliffe Bible Translators

Give Me That Old Time Religeon!
"Somewhere, like in Texas, there were preachers who preached it all, from Genesis to Revelation, without blinking an eye. I took great comfort in knowing that, even while I preached a pitiful, compromised, peeled-down gospel, that somewhere good old Bible believing preachers were offering their congregations the unadulterated Word, straight up!" (Source unknown)
Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834 - 1892) said:
"That old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that I must preach today, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of doctrine. John Knox's gospel is my gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again." (from Iain Murray's The Forgotten Spurgeon)
And someone once said:
"It can be exhilarating to belong to a church that is 500 years behind the times and sublimely indifferent to fashion; it is mortifying to belong to a church that is 5 minutes behind the times and huffing and puffing to catch up!"
If you are tired of hearing a "pitiful, compromised, peeled-down gospel," and want to hear the "unadulterated Word, straight up," check out these great sermons:
