A Sermon for Today, February 17, 2013

Today is Sunday. The Christian Sabbath. The Lord's Day. I hope you make it to church today to hear God's Word preached. But if you are unable to make it to church, I would like to recommend a sermon for you to listen to today.

The sermon I want to recommend to you today is by pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892):

Is God Speaking to America in Latest Storm in Northeast?

Winter Storm Buries Northeast: Leaves 10 Dead, 700,000 Powerless - The Christian Post

Our Lord Jesus cautioned his disciples (and us) not to see God's judgement every time a disaster strikes (see Luke 13:1-3).  Probably the storms that have hit the Northeastern part of the U.S. are not directly related to the sins of this country (passing same sex marriage, 58 million murdered babies since Roe v Wade, $16.5 trillion dollar debt, etc.).  But we can't be sure.

Please take the time to listen to this important message from Rev. Cornelis Pronk:

Amos 3: "The lion hath roared, who shall not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophecy?"

Christmas Day Sermons

I went to church last night, on Christmas Eve. But since our church did not have services today, and I had the day off from my job, I spent some time listening to some sermons from Sermonaudio. Here are two I listened to today that I would like to heartily recommend to you (the first was preached on October 28, 2012, and the second was preached today, December 25th):

Third major storm moving into Northern Californa

Third major storm moving into Northern California | Fox News:

When Hurricane Sandy was pulverizing the East coast, I posted several short articles saying that maybe God is speaking to America in this 'natural' disaster (see my post, Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Katrina. God is Speaking to America).  I don't know how these storms that are hitting California compare to Hurricane Sandy, but I still believe we can hear God speaking to us in these storms. Please take some time to listen to the following sermon on Amos 3:8:

"The lion hath roared, who shall not fear? The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophecy?"

"The Parallel Development of Good and Evil In History"

Today is Sunday, The Lord's Day, The Christian Sabbath.  I hope you made it to a good Bible believing church today and worshiped our Lord Jesus and heard the Lord speak to you from the pulpit.  If you did not, why don't you sit back and listen to a sermon by Rev. Cornelis Pronk titled:

The Parallel Development of Good and Evil in History

The title for this sermon is Revelation 22:11,12:

"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still:
and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still:
and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still:
and he that is holy, let him be holy still."
