Russia Cracks Down On Undesirable Groups

Russia Cracks Down On Undesirable Groups - huffingtonpost.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Putin, who has adopted an increasingly conservative stance since returning to the Kremlin for a third presidential term in 2012, said he would not allow the West to use civil rights groups to foment unrest in Russia. Russia has accused the West of engineering the overthrow of Ukraine's pro-Moscow president Viktor Yanukovich last year through its support for NGOs."

Here is an excerpt from How Many People Did Stalin Kill? (historyofrussia.org)

"Before the collapse of the Soviet Union led to the opening of state archives to researchers, estimates of the number of people killed under Stalin’s leadership varied dramatically, from 3 million at the lowest end, to around 60 million at the top end. Post-Soviet research has shown that the number of deaths is probably around 20 million – still a horrific number. The records are not particularly accurate in many ways, though, and although a rough consensus seems to be emerging that 20 million deaths is a reasonably accurate figure, the topic is still subject to much debate."

Russia Raises Stalin's Ghost Amid Nostalgia For Past Glories

Russia Raises Stalin's Ghost Amid Nostalgia For Past Glories - news.yahoo.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Law student Mikhail Kosyrev used to have a negative view of Stalin but his attitude has drastically changed in recent years, he said, insisting the wartime tyrant meant well. 'Over the past five years I've often watched documentary films about Stalin, about that time on television and learnt more about him,' the 29-year-old told AFP. 'And now I don't have any negative feelings towards him. He had good intentions.' Since President Vladimir Putin took power in 2000, there has been a growing chorus of Russians who take a positive view of the Soviet tyrant's role in history."

Putin Rejects Socialism

Putin Rejects Socialism [Video] - english.pravda.ru

Excerpt from this article:

"President Putin prefers a free market and capitalism over socialism. It must be true. Otherwise the Communist US government and western media would favor Putin. Instead they brand him as a tyrant or dictator. They try often in making him look like them when he is not a Communist. Khrushchev's 1959 prediction came true and now most US citizens do not know they are in the USSR on American soil. The universe has changed and the other side of the world is free as Putin prefers capitalism over socialism."

Gorbachev: Murder Of Opposition Leader Was A False Flag

Gorbachev: Murder Of Opposition Leader Was A False Flag - zerohedge.com

Excerpt from this article:

"... Putin warned years ago that a false flag of this nature might occur.
Michael Rivero notes: Another reason to doubt the 'Blame Putin' chorus we are already seeing in the corporate media is the manner in which the shooting took place, in public, in front of the girlfriend, to generate the maximum publicity. If Putin had really wanted to kill this guy, it would have been a 'suicide' in private or a small plane crash, the way the US Government handles assassinations." (Emphasis mine)

The NYT Doesn't Want You To Understand This Vladamir Putin Speech

The NYT Doesn't Want You To Understand This Vladamir Putin Speech - salon.com

Excerpt from this article:

"Putin has just delivered a speech every American deserves to hear and consider. Few will have done so for the simple reason that our media declined to tell you about the Russian leader’s presentation to an annual gathering of leaders and thinkers called the Valdai International Discussion Club, a Davos variant. Here is the Kremlin transcript, and now readers have two things to decide: What they think of the speech and what they think of the American media for not reporting it.The theme at Valdai this year was 'The World Order: NewRules, or a Game Without Rules.'”

Putin’s Take Not All Wrong

Putin’s take not all wrong:

"The outrage expressed by so many American politicians about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s op-ed in the New York Times is an interesting exercise in speciousness, given that much of what the Russian president wrote is factually correct...his analysis of the conflict is bang-on when he says that, 'There are few champions of democracy in Syria.' Certainly there are no good guys in this conflict and support for either side is a losing proposition. The outcome of the Syrian civil war will surely be detrimental to the majority of Syrians, no matter who wins."

Putin Lectures Obama On Privacy

Putin lectures Obama on privacy:

"In a historic twist of irony, the president of Russia who formerly headed the secretive KGB spy agency is now lecturing the president of the United States on protecting the privacy of citizens. Russia’s Vladimir Putin, in a meeting with RT (Russia Today) journalists, said data surveillance is acceptable, but only if it’s done within the law. 'Such methods are in demand. But you can’t just listen to the phone call in Russia; you need a special order from court,' Putin said. 'This is how this should be done in civilized society while tackling terrorism with the use of any technical means. If it is in the framework of the law, then it’s OK. If not it is unacceptable.'

Things have come a long way since Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was a 'guest' of the state in a Romanian Prison under the old Soviet Union.  For what America could look like in the not-too-distant-future, read:

Putin Vows No Return To 'Stalinist' Repressions

Putin Vows No Return To 'Stalinist' Repressions:

"President Vladimir Putin on Thursday vowed there would be no throwback to Stalin-era repressions in Russia as he sought to bolster his image as the country's unchallenged strongman in the first nationwide phone-in of his new Kremlin term."

Kudos to Mr. Putin. Now if we could just get the same guarantee from President Obama, we could all breathe easier.
