Islamic Militant Leader Vows to Continue Attacks Against Nigerian Christians: "We Should Mutilate!"

Islamic Militant Leader Vows to Continue Attacks Against Nigerian Christians: "We Should Mutilate!" - christiannews.net

Excerpt from this article:

"In a video released on Saturday, the leader of an Islamic terrorist group vowed to attack Christians and threatened to mutilate and decapitate victims."

I'm starting to like Ann Coulter's post-9/11 suggestion

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity!

Putin Recalls 'Romantic Years' of Soviet Youth

Putin Recalls 'Romantic Years' of Soviet Youth

Excerpts from this article:

"The Soviet Union may be long gone but President Vladimir Putin, a former KGB spy, has revealed that he retains fond memories of the Communist Party's youth wing."

If you want to learn more about the "Romantic Years" of the old Soviet Union, check out this excellent book:

The Persecutor, by Sergei Kourdakov (Subtitle: "His Job in the Russian Police Was to Inflict Terror and Suffering on Christians...and He Did it Well!")

Here are 2 short excerpts from reviews of this book:

Reviewer #1: "Absolutely mind blowing! Reading this book sent shock waves down my spine! I usually don't upset very easily, but what the communists would do to innocent Christian people is so cruel it would make you sick."

Reviewer #2: "This book is the autobiography of a young orphan, recruited by the KGB to expose and torture Christians.   Converted by their example of love, he defected to Canada and told the truth about communism brutality to the church. For this he was murdered."

To be fair, not everyone is as enthusiastic about this book. Wikipedia points out that since this book was published post-humously (after his murder!), Christians may have done some editing to make things in Russia look worse than they really were.

I've read this book and I believe it was written by Sergei Kourdakov, and what he wrote is factual. I highly recommend this book to everyone around the world, but especially Americans, because what Sergei talks about in this book is rapidly coming to this country!

Cheney Cracks Joke About Waterboarding

Cheney Cracks Joke About Waterboarding - newser.com

"Hey, did you hear the one about strapping people down and forcing them to inhale water so they feel like they're drowning? Waterboarding was just one of the questionable punchlines at a recent roast of Dick Cheney, according to attendees. Cheney told a joke—which he attributed to Jay Leno—about wanting to waterboard an antelope, reports Buzzfeed."

It just so happens that one of my most popular posts has to do with waterboarding - Check it out:

New Report Calls Evidence of U.S. Torture "Indisputable"

New Report Calls Evidence of U.S. Torture "Indisputable":

"A two-year-long non-partisan study has concluded it is "indisputable" that the United States engaged in the practice of torture in the years following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The 577-page report by the Constitution Project also makes clear that the highest officials of the U.S. government were responsible. The policy is unprecedented in the United States, the report said, in "the kind of considered and detailed discussions that occurred after 9/11 directly involving a president and his top advisers on the wisdom, propriety and legality of inflicting pain and torment on some detainees in our custody.""

What Would Richard Wurmbrand Think of Waterboarding?

Waterboarding is the practice of pouring water over someone's head to give them the 'sensation of drowning.' Its purpose is to elicit information from suspected terrorists or others who may have information that would be useful to national security.

Richard Wurmbrand (1909 - 2001) was a Christian minister who suffered intense persecution and torture for preaching the gospel in Romania during the 'grand ole days' of communism.

I don't know what Pastor Wurmbrand would have thought of waterboarding. But I do know what he thought about torture - especially torture that was inflicted against Christians who faithfully proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here are two short quotes from his great book, Tortured for Christ:

"It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners, as it is in captive nations today. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their terms. It was a deal: we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching; they were happy beating us—so everyone was happy."

"The following scene happened more times than I can remember. A brother was preaching to the other prisoners when the guards suddenly burst in, surprising him halfway through a phrase. They hauled him down the corridor to their beating room. After what seemed an endless beating, they brought him back and threw him—bloody and bruised—on the prison floor. Slowly, he picked up his battered body, painfully straightened his clothing and said, 'Now, brethren, where did I leave off when I was interrupted?' He continued his gospel message! I have seen beautiful things!"

Richard Wurmbrand went to be with his Lord on February 17, 2001.  I'm looking forward to meeting him one day in glory!

The Bible says:

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and their shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor signing, neither shall their be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." - Revelation 21:4
