Rev. Cruz: If Gay Marriage Is a "Civil Right," Gov't Will Force Pastors To Obey An Unjust Law Or Obey God And Face Going To Prison

Rev. Cruz: If Gay Marriage Is a "Civil Right," Gov't Will Force Pastors To Obey An Unjust Law Or Obey God And Face Prison - cnsnews.com

Excerpt from this article:

"If gay marriage is legally viewed as a “civil rights issue,” as may happen with the Supreme Court’s ruling on the subject in June, then it becomes a broader religious liberty concern, not just a marriage issue, said Reverend Rafael Cruz, adding that then pastors will have to choose between obeying an “unjust” law and obeying God and potentially going to prison."

Gay Rights and Religious Freedom

Headlines: Gay Rights and Religious Freedom - reclinercommentaries.com

Excerpt from this article:

"For those who are too young to remember, gay activists (not all gays are gay activists and not all gay activists are gay), began their fight by appealing for tolerance. They just wanted tolerance for their views and lifestyle. Now that they are a powerful force in American culture they have turned out to be among the most intolerant people on the planet!"

Federal Government Now Requiring Churches to Get Permits for Baptisms

Federal government now requiring churches to get permits for Baptisms - BizPac Review:

"As if it wasn’t involved in people’s private lives enough, the federal government wants to regulate baptisms, requiring a special-use permit for ceremonies in public waters. The policy was recently enforced by the National Park Service, which — spontaneity be damned — requires a 48-hour advance notice of baptisms, according to Todd Starnes at Fox News."

Obama Offends Catholics in UK, Says Religeous Schools Are Divisive

Obama Offends Catholics in UK, Says Religious Schools Are Divisive - bizpacreview.com

This article quotes President Obama as saying:

“If towns remain divided—if Catholics have their schools and buildings and Protestants have theirs, if we can’t see ourselves in one another and fear or resentment are allowed to harden—that too encourages division and discourages cooperation.”

I'm not a fan of Roman Catholicism. If you doubt that, check out my posts: Saving Those Damned Catholics! and Pope Francis Says Atheists Can Be Good. I Stand Corrected. Sort Of! It's not that I hate them. I don't. I just believe that Martin Luther didn't make a mistake 500 years ago when he posted his 95 Thesis on the door of the Castle Church in Whittenberg, thus sparking the Protestant Reformation.

But every Christian has cause to be alarmed at the President's remarks. What he is doing is echoing the words that England's King James said to the Puritans in the early 1600s, that they will conform or he will "Harry them out of the country...or worse!"
