Read the Whole Bible in 2014! Saturday, March 22, 2014

I'm going to try to read through the whole Bible this year. Why don't you join me? There are many different websites that offer reading plans to read the Bible in a year. The one I chose is Read the KJV Bible in One Year. So for today, let's read chapters 1 - 5 in the book of James.

Special verse(s):

Chapter 1

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." - James 1:5,6

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him." - James 1:12

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." - James 1:22

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." - James 1:27
Chapter 2

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." - James 2:10

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." - James 2:19

"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." - James 2:26

Chapter 4

" ...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?" - James 4:4

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." - James 4:7,8

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." - James 4:10

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." - James 4:17

Chapter 5

"Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you." - James 5:1

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." - James 5:16

Note: If you have a reading disability that makes it difficult or impossible to read along with me this year, please consider going to Biblegateway.com and listening to the Bible. This is a great site with many resources, one of which is an audio version of the Bible
