I'm going to try to read through the whole Bible this year. Why don't
you join me? There are many different websites that offer reading plans
to read the Bible in a year. The one I chose is Read the KJV Bible in One Year. So for today, let's read Chapters 1 - 6 in the book of 1 Timothy.
Special verse(s):
1 Timothy 1
"Knowing this, that the law is not made
for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the
ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of
fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For
whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for
menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other
thing that is contrary to sound doctrine..." - 1 Timothy 1:9,10
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." - 1 Timothy 1:15
1 Timothy 2
"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus..." - 1 Timothy 2:4,5
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." - 1 Timothy 2:11-15
1 Timothy 3
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was
manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached
unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." - 1 Timothy 3:16
1 Timothy 4
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that
in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron..." - 1 Timothy 4:1,2
"But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For
bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all
things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to
come." - 1 Timothy 4:7,8
"Let
no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in
word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12
"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all." - 1 Timothy 4:15
1 Timothy 5
"But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own
house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." - 1 Timothy 5:8
1 Timothy 6
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For
the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted
after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through
with many sorrows." - 1 Timothy 6:6-10
