What Are We Fighting For - In Afganistan?

Endless Afganistan? US - Afgan Agreement Would Keep Troups in Place, and Funds Flowing, Perhaps Indefinitely - worldnews.nbcnews.com

Excerpt from this Aricle:

"While many Americans have been led to believe the war in Afghanistan will soon be over, a draft of a key U.S.-Afghan security deal obtained by NBC News shows the United States is prepared to maintain military outposts in Afghanistan for many years to come, and pay to support hundreds of thousands of Afghan security forces."

In an earlier article about America's involvement in Afghanistan, General Joseph Dunford explains what "Winning" will look like in that country:

He indicated that winning the war is no longer about defeating al Qaeda.
Although U.S.-led forces have “put extraordinary pressure on al-Qaida and its associated networks in Afghanistan” and “disrupted al-Qaida's ability to plan and conduct operations from within the country, Dunford said “al-Qaida in the region remains resilient and determined to attack the West.”
Dunford indicated that winning the war involves nation-building.

Last summer President Obama called Republicans "Deadbeats" for opposing an increase in the federal debt limit, saying that only deadbeats don't pay their bills. I wrote a post saying that the issue had nothing to do with whether America should pay its bills (See my post: Obama Calls Republicans "Deadbeats" for Opposing Increase in Debt Limit). I said the issue was the worthless politicians - like our president! - who are just going to continue to spend our country into bankruptcy.

This morning I posted a link to a news article saying that in the six weeks of the current fiscal year America has already added $1 trillion dollars to our federal debt (See my post: Treasury Forced to Issue $1 Trillion in New Debt The First Six Weeks of Fiscal Year 2014). So who's really the deadbeat, Mr. President?

Mark Levin, who is also a Constitutional scholar, said recently:

"You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine.  What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances - there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yes, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren. What they are doing is with malice and with forethought." (emphasis mine) (source)

Note: An Obama protester once held up a sign that read: "Nice Performance, But We're Not That Stupid!" Well, then again, maybe we are!
