The research involved over 440 scientists in 32 institutes performing over 1,600 experiments.² They found that over 80% of the human DNA does something, although the details of what it does mostly remain to be determined. Less than 2% of the DNA codes for proteins; the rest turns out to be like a huge control panel, with millions of switches that turn protein-producing genes on or off.  In 2007 Kent Hovind was convicted of "failing to collect and pay withholding tax and obstructing tax laws", and was sentenced to 10 years in prison (see: Government Persecuting Jailed Creation Evangelist). The devil had good reason to try to silence Kent Hovind.In fact, I think Charles Spurgeon's word's about Martin Luther could be applied to Kent Hovind:

 "Satan must have thought much of Martin Luther. 'I could ride the world over,' he says,'  if it wasn't for that monk. He stands in my way. That strong headed man hates and mauls my first born son, the pope. If I could get rid of him, I wouldn't mind though 50,000 smaller saints stood in my way." (From Spurgeon's sermon Satan Considering the Saints)

But our Lord Jesus has a way to frustrate the devil's work, and now Kent Hovind's son has carried on his father's work!

The Big Bang is a fact - around 6,000 years ago God spoke, and BANG! Everything was created (or at least it was created in 6 literal 24 hour days!)

It takes a lot of faith to believe in evolution. I have long thought - and still believe this - that the one irrefutable argument against evolution is the genetic code: DNA and RNA (please listen to Astonishing DNA Complexity Demolishes Neo-Darwinism, by Alex Williams).  But a close second is enzymes.

Those who teach evolution say that with enough time anything is possible. Put 100 monkeys in front of 100 typewriters for a billion years and they will eventually write Shakespeare, or so they say! But "time" is not a friend of evolution (see Time: No Friend to Evolution, by David Catchpoole). Here is an interesting article on how long it would take for a biological reaction to occur without the aid of enzymes:

As I've said in previous blog posts, I can understand why public school teachers and college professors teach evolution. They have bills to pay and careers to look after. Being true to their calling of searching for truth and knowledge is not as important as watching over their bank account. But what I can't understand is why their students don't have absolute contempt for them and close their ears (and minds) every time they speak!

I'm encouraged by articles like this, but it really doesn't affect my faith. I believe in a young earth (around 6-10,000 years old) because that is what the Bible says.

So the devil has won another round in the public schools in Texas. But not so fast. OK, the school kids can't be taught creation science, the theory of Intelligent design and Irreducible complexity. And they can't hear any criticism of the state-sponsored religion - evolution. Fine. But let's at least make sure that what the students are reading is factual (or as factual as they can be considering the textbooks are inspired by the father of lies himself!)

To be fair I'll post a rebuttal to Ray Comfort's video:

Both of these videos are entertaining. I side with Ray Comfort, not because I believe he made the best case against evolution, but because I accept Genesis 1:1 by faith:

"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."

But JaclynGlenn's appeal to molecular genetics as proof of evolution is not very convincing either. In fact, if I were an atheist, molecular genetics would be the last place I would want people to look for proof of evolution. Perhaps rather than do another rebuttal on Ray Comfort's video Evolutiom Vs. God, JaclynGlenn could do a rebuttal on the following podcast by Alex Williams:

A Holy War In South Dakota

Grappling over God: ‘Holy war’ in Dakotas:

Here is a sobering fact: atheists do not go to hell. That is because when an atheist dies he or she will be fully persuaded that their is a God, for they will meet him - they will meet Jesus Christ - face to face. Unfortunately, it will be too late for them. The Bible says:

"As it is appointed unto men once to die, and after that, the judgement." - Hebrews 9:27
