It takes a lot of faith to believe in evolution. I have long thought - and still believe this - that the one irrefutable argument against evolution is the genetic code: DNA and RNA (please listen to Astonishing DNA Complexity Demolishes Neo-Darwinism, by Alex Williams).  But a close second is enzymes.

Those who teach evolution say that with enough time anything is possible. Put 100 monkeys in front of 100 typewriters for a billion years and they will eventually write Shakespeare, or so they say! But "time" is not a friend of evolution (see Time: No Friend to Evolution, by David Catchpoole). Here is an interesting article on how long it would take for a biological reaction to occur without the aid of enzymes:

As I've said in previous blog posts, I can understand why public school teachers and college professors teach evolution. They have bills to pay and careers to look after. Being true to their calling of searching for truth and knowledge is not as important as watching over their bank account. But what I can't understand is why their students don't have absolute contempt for them and close their ears (and minds) every time they speak!

What I like best about Ken Ham is that he still accepts the Bible as the final authority on matters of science. Would that all Christians followed his lead. His speech, Six Days and the Eisegesis Problem should be required listening for every student in Bible colleges around the world. "For in Six Days the Lord Created the Heavens and the Earth" - Exodus 20:11

 The 'God Particle,' or as scientist call it, Higgs Boson, is in the news again today (see New Evidence Strengthens Case that Scientists Have Discovered a Higgs Boson ). It has been called The God Particle  because some believe it is what caused the 'Big Bang' to occur some 15 billion years ago.

Perhaps some definitions are in order:

Big Bang Theory: "In the begining there was nothing. Then nothing exploded, and created everything we see." That is the Big Bang theory in a nut shell.

Higgs Boson (aka The God Particle):  Is the 'Nothing' that exploded!

Or something like that!

I believe in the Big Bang, and it's not a theory. Some time around 6 to 10 thousand years ago, God Spoke, and "Bang!" everything we see came into existence!  Actually, while God could have done that in less than a second, he chose to take 6 literal, 24-hour days to do it.

Before you laugh that off, why don't you listen to Ken Ham talk about this very important - and fascinating - subject (I think you may find this podcast more interesting than the above article on the God Particle!):

Welcome to the Flat Earth Society!

Yes, there is a Flat Earth Society. Here is how Flat Earth Wiki describes their website:

"This website is dedicated to unraveling the true mysteries of the universe and demonstrating that the earth is flat and that Round Earth doctrine is little more than an elaborate hoax."


Apparently, the members of the Flat Earth Society haven't heard Stanly Freberg's song, It's A Round Round World!


It is a myth that Christians used to believe the world was flat prior to Columbus. Here is what Jeffrey Burton Russell has to say about this myth:

"No doubt some Christians did believe the Earth was flat, but not any educated people. A flat Earth seams to have been commonly believed in very ancient times. The ancient Egyptians believed the Earth was flat. But most Greek and Roman philosophers and geographers - for example, Pythagoras (570-495 B.C.), Eratosthenes (276-194 B.C.), and Ptolemy (A.D. 85-165)  - were confident that the Earth was round. Eratosthenes even measured its circumference to within 15 percent of the modern figure. So what happened? Did Christianity take over and suppress this ancient knowledge? Not at all. Over a hundred Christian writers discussed the shape of the Earth from the third to the fifteenth century A.D. During this time, a period of twelve hundred years, there were just two who asserted the Earth was flat and more than a hundred that asserted it was round." (Exposing Myths about Christianity, by Jeffrey Burton Russel, pages 142, 143).

 The Bible never says the Earth is flat. To the contrary, in Isaiah 40:22 the biblical writer talks about 'he that sitteth on the circle of the Earth."

The day will come when all myths will be exposed - including the myth that the earth was formed by some Big Bang 15 billion years ago.  The Bible says:  "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth." - Genesis 1:1.

In my last post I took a look at the eye (pun intended!) and provided some links and commentary which I hope get people thinking about how ridiculous it is to think that the human eye could have evolved by random mutation over millions of years.

I watched 2 You Tube videos on the eye tonight.  The first video was by an evolutionist. The second video was by a creationist.

The first video was put out by DNA Learning Center. It is titled The Eye and Irreducible Complexity - Creationism Debunked . The lady in this video tries to make the case that it is perfectly reasonable to believe that the eye evolved - step by step - over millions of years into the complex organ that it is today. I was not convince, but then it would take a lot to convince me - at the very least, some hard evidence. And that was lacking in this video.

But what really was lacking is any mention of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. The people in this video talk about the eye evolving - little by little - over millions of years, as if it were perfectly natural for things to go from simple to complex, from unorganized to organized. Unfortunately, science tells us a different story.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics refutes the idea that things go from simple to complex and from unorganized to organized. See the You Tube video, The Second Law of Thermodynamics Broken by Evolutionists.

And the idea that 'random mutations' create more functional organisms is certainly not supported by the facts. Random mutations are almost always harmful to the organism. See the You Tube video Mutation is a Destroyer, by NephilimFree.

I don't expect this short post to convince atheists and evolutionists that there is a God. The Bible says that "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17). And so while I hope everyone reading this post will take the time to watch the videos I have linked to, what I would really like them to do is click on the following link and listen to that Word of God preached by that latter day Puritan Charles Haddon Spurgeon:
