Why Were Our Reformers Burned?
Christian Tragedy in the Muslim World:
"Few people realize that we are today living through the largest persecution of Christians in history, worse even than the famous attacks under ancient Roman emperors like Diocletian and Nero. Estimates of the numbers of Christians under assault range from 100-200 million. According to one estimate, a Christian is martyred every five minutes."
The Bible says:
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginnings of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: And ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and many false prophets shall arise, and deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come." - Matthew 24:6-14

"Such conduct on their part would have entailed upon us a heritage of error. Age after age would have
gone down into the infernal deeps, and the pestiferous bogs of error would have swallowed all. These men loved the faith and the love of Jesus too well to see them trampled on.
"It is today as it was in the Reformer's days. Decision is needed. Here is the day for the man, where is the man for the day? We who have had the gospel passed to us by martyr hands dare not trifle with it, nor sit by and hear it denied by traitors, who pretend to love it but inwardly abhor every line of it...look you, sirs, there are ages yet to come.
"If the Lord does not speedily appear, there will come another generation, and another, and all those generations will be tainted and injured if we are not faithful to God and to his truth today. We have come to a turning point in the road. If we turn to the right, mayhap our children and our children's children will go that way. But if we turn to the left, generations yet unborn will curse our names for having been unfaithful to God and to his Word."

Obama Calls Republicans "Deadbeats" for Opposing Increase in Debt Limit*
President Obama: Republicans Opposing Debt Limit Increase Are ‘Deadbeat’ - ABC News:
"Setting the stage for the looming debt debate, President Obama today accused his Republican opponents of being “deadbeat” for refusing to raise the nation’s debt limit this fall without cuts in spending. 'Threatening that you won’t pay the bills in this country when we’ve already racked up those bills, that’s not an economic plan,' the president said. 'That’s just being a deadbeat.'"
This is a straw man argument. Of course America should pay its bills. The "Deadbeats" are not those Republicans who oppose increasing the debt limit, they are those good-for-nothing politicians - in both parties - that made it necessary to raise the debt limit in the first place! Eventually America will run out of credit - and will have no choice but to default.

*The "Republicans" I'm referring to in the title here are those men and women who are opposed to giving the President a blank check and voting to increase the debt limit. I'm not referring to the RINOs who are all too ready to vote to increase the debt limit so they have more money to spend on their pet projects.

What Do Dr. Tim LaHaye and Glen Beck Have in Common?
I have recommended the Left Behind series (the novels and the books based on them) many times on this site. I usually give a disclaimer, saying that I don't agree with everything in these books/movies. But I like them. They are entertaining. And they do serve a very important purpose: they remind people that our Lord Jesus is going to come back one day.
But something happened yesterday that deeply disturbed me about these books and movies. I was at the library and I saw a novel on the counter titled: Thunder of Heaven: A Joshua Jordan Novel. And in very large print above the title was the name, Tim LaHaye!
I've read most of the Left Behind series (12 novels) as well as the three prequels that were written afterward. And I have watched the Left Behind movies many times (especially the first 2 movies: Left Behind: The Movie and Left Behind 2: Tribulation Force). So I decided to check this book out.
The first thing I notice about this book was that it was endorsed by Glen Beck. I thought to myself, "Why in the world would Glen Beck be endorsing a book written by Dr. Tim LaHaye. Glen Beck is a Mormon, and the whole Mormon religion is based on the idea that all of the Christian churches became apostate soon after Jesus' disciples died. And it wasn't until Joseph Smith claimed to have a revelation in the early 1800s that the true church (the Mormon church!) was restored again.
But the question that really bothered me was this: Why was Dr. Tim LaHaye having a Mormon endorse his book about the end times? I went to Google and decided to look around. I typed in Tim LaHaye and Glen Beck and found out that Dr. LaHaye had endorsed a novel by Glen Beck on end times in the past! (Source)
There is really only one thing a Christian needs to know about the Mormon religion: "The Mormon God Elohim had sex with Mary." Apparently Dr. LaHaye either does not know this (unlikely!), or he does know it and doesn't care.

I'm not a fan of the UAW. Or the Teamsters. Or the UFCW. Or any Union, for that matter. But in the case of Detroit, I think the blame needs to be placed at the feet of the politicians who gutted America in the name of 'Free Trade.' For many years now our politicians have been exporting 'living wage jobs' overseas. And it will take more than singing Solidarity Forever! to bring those jobs back home!

"I'm not sending my kids or your kids or any American soldiers to fight for a stalemate."
I had a college professor tell me one time that (in his opinion!) "every war America has ever fought has been about money." I don't believe it! If America had just followed the non-violet ways of the Quakers and the Amish over the past 200 years we wouldn't be flying the American flag today (our flag would probably have a hammer and a sickle on it!).
But I do think if our president is allowed to drag us into war in Syria, money is going to be at the root of it. The president needs a war to justify spending more money, driving the national debt up, and ultimately bringing about his goal: the destruction of America and the creation of a New World Order under the United Nations.
George W. Bush (a globalist himself) finished off his second term in office with a budget deficit of $458 billion dollars. Here are Obama' deficits (Source):
2009: $1.41 trillion
2010: $1.29 trillion
2011: $1.30 trillion
2012: $1.33 trillion
If we go to war in Syria, it won't be for humanitarian reasons. It won't be to try to impose American-style democracy on Muslims. It will be because our president needs an excuse to spend (and borrow) more money because he knows that eventually our economy - and our country - will collapse under the weight of such tremendous debt. And America has to be destroyed before a truly functioning world government can be set up.
